Clayton oliver with a 66.8m kick dang

and McKenzie can kick 70m+

Trent McKenzie left fans in shock a couple of times in Thursday’s NAB Challenge match against West Coast with booming kicks at both ends of the ground.
A shot for goal from around 80 metres out in the opening quarter was the first big roost, but it was a kick-in from full back in the third quarter that cleared the centre circle that had fans in awe.

The challenge took place after a grueling two-hour training session.
While the windy conditions were not favourable with 'The Cannon' forced to kick into a stern south-westerly breeze.
McKenzie rose to the challenge, powering up his left boot and kicking the ball around 65m over the top of Port Adelaide's headquarters.

Yeah righto

People attributing the inevitable significant increase in player movements to a nice conspiracy story is quite amusing.

Lynch to Richmond CONSPIRACY
Treloar to Collingwood CONSPIRACY
Shiel to Essendon CONSPIRACY
Caddy to Geelong CONSPIRACY
Buddy to Sydney CONSPIRACY
Yeo to West Coast CONSPIRACY
Deledio to GWS CONSPIRACY
Rockliff to Port CONSPIRACY?
Gibbs to Adelaide?
Daniher to Sydney CONSPIRACY?
Ryder to Port CONSPIRACY?
Kelly to West Coast CONSPIRACY?

Get over it, players are exercising their heftier power at the bargaining table to maximise their earnings and leverage their personal situation. Yes, I liked the romance of guys staying at their clubs and still do today, but in line with society their is a lot more fear-of-missing-out and expectations from supporters that their clubs will go hard at bringing in additional players to improve the team.

GWS are doing and will continue to do fine. The Suns are in a spiral at the moment, but things can change very quickly when things click into gear as Richmond is a testament to.

Yeah, nothing suss about a Big4 club rinsing and farming an explansion club for their best three players, despite the salary cap.

Then the AFL giving that club a priority pick.

Nothing at all.

Way to bring a load of unrelated stuff.

I can’t believe the club we absolutely obliterated in the 2014 EF has become everything Port Adelaide once was.
Wonder what would have happened if they destroyed us that day....

We still would have Ken no doubt so probably the same outcome.

Caddy came from Geelong. Incidentally Caddy and Prestia were far from their best three players when at the Gold Coast albeit were still in their development phase.

Gold Coast is a complex situation. With the increasing prevalence of player movement in the game, it's certainly a concern that they are leaking talented players left, right and centre prior to them entering their prime. The best talent will simply migrate from undesirable environments to desirable and as we have seen that club could be any of a number of clubs for a variety of personal reasons - not necessarily "big 4". So still in their formative years Gold Coast face a pretty bleak cycle thanks to years of mismanagement, but it can be changed and has to be addressed in some way. I would suggest that a reversion to an increased salary cap would be one such way to assist them more tangibly than the relatively uncertain handout of a priority pick but that seems to be unpalatable in the industry given the windback of COLA etc. It won't be easy to build the right culture there, but it can and will happen eventually.
