Our performances have nothing to do with the talent.
I agree with the first part, we definitely need our best 22 each week because we have nothing much after that.
The second part is a bit contradictory to the first.
You’re saying we need our best 22 obviously because we don’t have the talent to cover injuries.
Then you’re saying our performances have nothing to do with talent?
It’s not making sense to me.

It's pretty obvious that his point is that other teams can lose talent but their system and coaching covers for that whereas we get by on talent alone so when that diminishes we're done.
The idea that other teams have this mythical depth that we don't have is just nonsense. Every team, Collingwood included, has relative spuds in their best 23, let alone beyond that.

Yep. They were playing a whole array of spuds out there but their belief, their performance, their execution, their confidence at the level, was just stuff we do NOT see from anyone outside our best 22.
Our gameplan, our coach, everything is totally reliant on us being injury free. We trade for Players to solve needs, we fill every gap and yet still no matter what we add or how we develop our players, we just can't get a functioning squad that's achieving results that are anything more than just talent based.
It's infuriating.
Our squad is fully capable of winning a flag if Collingwood's can. We're just so stale, playing to such a flawed game plan. It's like the Hinkley was a good era for us in terms of lifting us and putting in a structure that the next coach can lead on from, but we have missed the window for that change by a long way, and now we're stuck so deep in a culture of mediocrity, with players that are completely mentally ruined, with no ability to flip this group and pull us out of the mire in the near future. I'm not even sure what a new coach could even achieve now. Will certainly need a totally fresh start that is certain.
100 percent disagree. We have the talent it is solely on the coaching. Get some decent coaches in and it changes.

Ken Hinkley couldn't make Robbie Gray a premiership player with a decade of opportunity.
Craig McRea made Billy Frampton a premiership player within a year.
Ken sees players as diamonds and if you aren't a diamond you don't get to play in his team because he needs 22 diamonds to release the power of Hinkleyball.
McRea sees players as cogs and as long as you're fit and able, you can play in his team because he needs cogs that fit into the system for his game plan to work.

You give Norf our midfield and we would seriously struggle to beat them.
I back the boys in each week but up forward and down back we really struggle for talent.
Up forward we have MG and Rioli down back we have a couple of guys who really have a go but honestly I can’t name one you could say is a real talent apart from maybe Aliir but he’s not as good this year.
Our list is over rated because of the quality we have in the middle.
Yes a good coach can make a difference but Norf have the most successful coach this century and still won’t win a game this year.
Anyway when Ken does finely go will get Carr and that’s not going to be much better.

A decade plus at one club is reserved for premiership coaches. Outside of that it never happens….except here.
Dream all you want but the fact is we have Hinkley and he’s going to be replaced with Carr.
No new Toys for us, we are the poor kids have to have what Uncle David gives us.
Uncle David is a c*** and until he’s gone we are up ship creek.
Wouldn’t be surprised after Carr goes he gets replaced with Chadbro who will break Hinkley’s all time record.

It was the same with Hardwick at Richmond. That team wasn't amazing, bar Dusty going beast mode. They swapped out players and won multiple flags because they had a winning game style, not 22 all Australians like Kenny needs

Interested to see how Adelaide do against a team we went life and death with. I suspect on form, they're currently a much better side than us. Which is laughable when you line up the talent side by side

Look at Adelaide, they lose defenders with injury, then find new players like they are confetti on the ground, then look at us, we have to recruit defenders cos they are like diamonds in the ground, and look at the result now, we still smell defensively.
