Crows first rounders over the past decade and a bit

2012: Nil (Tippettgate)
2013: Nil (Tippettgate)
2014: Lever
2015: Milera, Doedee
2016: Gallucci
2017: Traded for Gibbs, Traded for Gibbs, Fogarty
2018: Jones, McHenry
2019: McAsey
2020: Thilthorpe, Pedlar
2021: Rachele
2022: Michalanney
2023: Curtin

The popular and industry belief that the Crows were primed to take the next step and push for the eight, if not the edges of the top-4, was insane.

They haven’t won a game at the MCG since 2017 for a reason.

Prime Leigh Matthews would struggle to do much more than Nicks has with the ‘talent’ at his disposal.
That’s 11 years of bog average drafting.
Must say they get all excited about getting one player and draft rubbish with what’s left.
Only positive they can do is lift when they play us.
Then after the celebrations have died down it’s back to 12th place and the knifes are out

Crows fans finally realise that Port fans have been right about them for a long time...

at the same time that Port fans realise that Crows fans have been right about them for a long time...

Its a strange time.
Basically what Rowe is saying is exactly what our supporters say about our set up.
What this tells you is South Australian Football is fkd.

Rowe going hard at Silvers, Reid should be gone, towing the company line, Roo needs to go......

What I wouldn't give to hear someone grill Koch or Ken in the same way.....its so unfair

I believe the Crows not playing finals at all in recent years is starting to breakdown even there biggest fans.

Adelaide are just uncomfortable with the fact the AFL doesn't give a shit if they're successful or not (just like Port), they draw huge crowds regardless. In fact, they probably care even less because of that.

This story from 2019 on the Crows' external review has proven prophetic...

'Geelong created the blueprint, and Collingwood and Richmond followed when faced with the arduous task of turning around the fortunes of their respective clubs.'

'But the Crows have departed from that methodology — and it could set the club back for years.'
Paul Roos told On The Couch the Crows were going about rectifying their problems the wrong way, labelling the external review as “alarming”.

The problem is, I have no faith that the internal people at Port see any issues to address, adopt a nothing to see here approach, and won't dig deep enough to find out what really needs to be done.

They'll protect their own jobs and back sides, and just do a superficial scratch of the surface. then come up with a conclusion and a narrative to support those conclusions, that justifies their original intent of no change, and "how's the stability".

The review panel needs to be comprised of a 50:50 blend of internal people, and external ones who can cast a dispassionate and unbiased eye, so as to give perspective and brutal honesty. The internal people to be WGT and "maybe" Davies, albeit I'm not sure that the latter will be adequate.

Fat chance of that happening.

Of course not, they'd be getting mammoth salaries to keep the status quo. Why work harder?

Chasing Greatness or whatever is a prime example of that - quick what's something we can punch out that makes it look like we're busy, here let's plagiarise whatever Richmond did (except for the success part).

I felt Adelaide's 2023 was a massive overachievement and they're just back in line with where their list dictates they should be now.

Not sure it's worth sacking Nicks over. You're not winning games with the next coach either.
But, but they should have made finals 😂😂😂😂😂

Svers saying the Crows have cut their list as deep as any club ever was hilarious.

I could pick 5 that should go from their first 22 alone, let alone their whole list.
