We've won 4 Mclelland trophies, when they weren't worth a pinch of salt.

Now its worth $1 million. Last year was the first time they handed out $1mil and Melbourne won it.

From the 2023 AFL and 2023 AFLW seasons onward, the trophy will be presented to the club with the highest aggregate points across the home-and-away seasons of both competitions, with the winning club also being awarded $1 million prizemoney: $500,000 goes to the winning club, with $250,000 being split among that club's AFL players ($6250 per player), and $250,000 being split among that club's AFLW players ($8333 per player).

..........

Wins in the men's competition are worth four premiership points, while victories in the NAB AFL Women's competition earn eight points on the McClelland Trophy ladder.

So that's what Caleb Daniel looks like!

Where in that article did it say he has left Port?

All it says to me is that he has left 7 ( doesn't mention 7) to go and work with the Fox Footy team. Doesn't say he will be Melbourne based. Maybe they are finally giving Roo the flick.

Roo is a better commentator than Burgoyne

The early fancy to finish 10th.

Another ringing endorsement for The Hinkley Program™
I've got a bet on with my brother in law. We both had to predict where we would finish. I predicted 7th, he predicted 12th which shocked me, lol. So if we finish 1-9 I win the bet, 10-18 he wins. Only a bottle of red on the line so not high stakes but adds a bit of interest to a year I'm not looking forward to.

Are they frigging serious? Yeah she shoved her, but to say she shoved her deliberately into the umpire is madness. Mind you, Port player, life ban even if she was the player being shoved.

It feels disgusting that they are blowing $1 million on this ridiculously badly designed format that literally nobody cares about. The fact it might just go to Hawthorn who might win it while not needing the $ and actually winning nothing of value is also awful.

If they really wanted to promote the women's game they could have just given that money to the grassroots women's comps.

McClelland trophy should be limited to the Mens comp and the prize for winning it should be like that $1Mill.

We don't put anywhere near the value we should on a first place finish. It's not as great as proving you can beat everyone on the biggest stage of finals, but it is a massive achievement in its own right and our 4x1st places finishes should be held in higher regard.
