It's cause he's a bloody athlete, not a footballer. That's been obvious since he was at Geelong before we traded for him.From the little I saw of Esava playing for Geelong he looks to me like someone who is a bit confused on the ground.
His use of ball by hand or foot doesn’t look very convincing, it’s like a thousand thoughts are going through his mind when he has the ball.
I personally wouldn’t have drafted him but that’s just my opinion.
He'll always try hard, but he won't likely ever be an elite AFL footballer. He lacks the skills and craft to be that. I always thought he could be third tall defender at best but I think he lacks the craft to do that.
