So lycett doesn’t dominate hit outs, doesn’t take marks around the ground, doesn’t kick goals, doesn’t restrict the oppo ruckman in a contest after he’s lost the hit out, and doesn’t win the ball after he loses it. So what attributes are keeping him in?

SYNDICATION

Just over powered at the stoppage in that quarter

Macrae and Bont are feasting, need to maybe put some work in there

Their forward line worries me, MacKenzie is too under size against lobbe and weightman is too quick for Houston and Burton

Our crap depth

Did well to get one back and hold up a tiny bit of their momentum. We’ll be in trouble though if we can’t quell their clearance dominance, tighten up significantly on Weightman and prevent English from doing what he likes around the ground.

We need Drew to put the clamps on Bont. Rozee to get into this match - not necessarily his fault as he seems to have spent at least 50% on the bench. Can only assume he is unwell because when he came on that term, we did look a bit better. JHF has just got to play with more fire in his belly more often. It looks at time like he is loitering out there, then for two minutes he’ll do something heroic and powerful.

Butters faded at the start of that term then came back strong but missed a very gettable one set up beautifully by JHF.

Would like Finlayson and Marshall to do a bit more. Very tough conditions. Marshall is competing better but not able to get it to stick in his hands.

An ugly first half. Port have earned their lead. Not much separating either side but I think Port have a bit more class. That being said inside 50 entries have been woeful and the KPFs are doing bugger all to get the ball to ground.

Lycett was washed 18 months ago. That the Club haven't actively tried to blood a new ruck on the regular in that time is absurd. I fail to see how he is better than any of the alternatives at this point.
