Russell Ebert talked about how juniors who are usually good kicks take time to find their accuracy at this level because of the increase in tempo and the fact that they are not playing with boys out there.

Even though GWS were a young side they are still bigger than a typical under 18 carnival size and the pace of this game is still a lot faster.

Emma Quayle's summary of Jasper pre-draft

8. JASPER McMILLAN-PITTARD (18, Geelong Falcons, 186cm, 71kg) At first glance, Jasper looks like a scrawny half-back flanker. He is a scrawny half-back flanker. But the way I see it, he has every ability required to play AFL footy, minus seven or eight kilograms. He's a smooth, smart, switched-on player who can get up onto the wings and deliver nice left-foot passes. Some added size will make his spoiling ability even more valuable, and Jasper thinks a split-second faster than those around him. It's like he instinctively knows where everyone is, what they're doing and what they're most likely to do next, allowing him to find ways past and around them. He's a favourite.

One of the things with guys whose game has some reliance on them knowing what their team mates are doing is they have to have spent some time playing with those guys. Pittard hasn't and he's still learning. Once JP's picked up the pace of AFL footy, is comfortable with the movements of his team mates and the game plan and expectations of the coaching staff you would expect him to blossom as predicted.

Schulzy IS a superstar :D

If Schulz was recruited by Paul Roos, at his prime age and with his physical attributes, he would blossom into something quite special.

No more Richo, no more Tredrea, you are the main man. Run, run, run, attack the contest, second effort, third effort, we believe in you.

If Primus has been taking notes and Schulz does in fact believe, we'll all end up being pleasantly surprised beyond the tantalising glimpses we were exposed to in the second half of 2010.
