I hate early games on a Sunday frigging morning. What type of idiot schedules this on a split round?

Early Sunday games are done to benefit me, because Sunday 12.40 translates into a Saturday night at 8.10 pm start. It's compensation for all the night games that start at 2.40 am for me.

Honestly if we can't win this it's time to put the cue in the rack for 2014 and get some games into the kids. But surely we'll win this one. Surely!

People keep banging on about structure. About how we need X amount of Y to win games. Well that's all bullshit. What we want, no, what we need, is to recapture what it means to be Port Adelaide. Port Adelaide isn't about having the best talent, the best structures. All that is important, but it's not vital...it's not what determines whether we win or lose as if there is some magical formula to it.

No, it's about two words - carpe diem. To seize the day. To make every possession, every moment on the field count. To mirror the actions of Dominic Cassisi, who despite his limitations as a player left everything he had on the ground and made sure that he left a legacy behind. Not for himself, but as part of the great tapestry that is the Port Adelaide Football Club.

Today, we don't fight like warriors. We fight like warrior-poets. We take control of our destiny and say 'This is what our verse will be.'

We've slipped down the mountain a little. It's time to start climbing again.

Warrior poets??? Play like Bob Dylan? Billy Bragg?

Warrior-poets, not poet-warriors :p

Coined at the end of the movie, "Braveheart", warrior poet describes the most bad ass of the bad asses. The most highly skilled fighters, competitors, warriors, swordsmen, spartans. No one can trump a warrior poet. Nobody trains like them. They do not know defeat and never will. Their heart, intelligence, and determination are unmatched. Their will to triumph, persevere, and over come are the thing of legend.

Can't get there today so stuck having to watch the delayed telecast. .. I'm banning myself from big footy during this time... well I'll probably give in to temptation after the Dees quick 3 quick goals in the first 2 mins!
