I know it probably doesn't have an impact but it always sh*ts me hearing Ken talk about how good the side we're going to face is during the week. Seems unnecessary and cedes part of the mental game before the bounce I feel. Earlier this week he was speaking glowingly of the Bulldogs and how tough it was going to be.

The saddest part was i let myself get caught up in the hope. I let myself get confident that we could win, or moreso, that we will win and face Melbourne in the last game in September, after the last few years of always being careful, never getting to confident and always waiting for the bubble to burst and for us to be shown as the mid table team we are.

The fact I allowed myself to think we deserved second place this year is what makes it hurt even more. The umpires are not to blame. The doggies are playing excellent footy.
We look like auskickers out there.

Depending on the start of the third term, I'm seriously considering the local Volksfest. Getting the Mrs in a tight dirndl, downing a few Muß and getting away from the disgrace I am witnessing on my Television right now seems a hell of a lot more tempting to me right now.
