Boak, Rocky and SPP all look much improved players this year.

Ebert has no idea what he's doing forward.

Rozee struggling to get into games. Might need to play a bit of SANFL footy this year.

Not when it's just AFLX in the real thing. The scoring is now way too easy. It'll take time for coaches and players to work out how to defend properly. Hopefully it finds a happy medium.

Ofcourse it's likely both defences are just shit.

Defence is young.. and you need an experienced defence to play finals..looking forward to Hammer and Broady back

Right now, Brett Montgomery has some work to do. Our defence collectively and individually is atrocious. It’s also poor in general play.

The work forward of centre looks great, although Marshall needs to lift if he is to play in round 1.

The stoppage work is dependent on who’s in the centre square. Motlop isn’t a centre square midfielder. Drew, SPP, Boak and R Gray are.

Lycett’s ruck work was excellent. Their run of goals resulted from changes within our centre square. Pretty sure Ryder went into ruck just before the avalanche of their goals, and Motlop went into the middle.

The defenders are the worry. Lienert has had a heap of ball won against him. Burton is tentative. Clurey and Jonas out of form.

Rozee looks pretty damn slick in the middle when he gets hands on it.

Wish SPP would just bury those goals running into the 50 rather than trying to hit up a forward with a dinky kick. Like he did a couple of times in 2017. Looks ****ing menacing though, a few clearances were perfect set pieces with Ryder and SPP working together. Set ups great, just some dumb/panicked midfielders costing us clearance dominance.

So we've got the so called super ruck combo, against a VFL player, and we're being beaten easily in the clearance numbers, in particular the all important centre square.

Our defense is just completely lost when the ball hits the ground, absolute panic kicks in with this 6-6-6 stuff. Reminds me of the Troy Chaplin, Cam O'Shea days.


Some good signs from SPP that term, Boak again looking great, Robbie heating up. Watts got involved which was alright. Marshall is getting closer to impacting the game. Butters just looks so lively. Burton did a couple horrid things. DBJ and Bonner were alright.

Hoping to see a lift from Rozee and Duursma this term. Also hoping that the ruckwork we saw towards the end of the quarter becomes the norm against a 2nd stringer
