Correct. So on the face of it Melbourne’s 12&18 is a reasonable swap for pick 8. If Port see the player they really want still on the board at pick 8 I could see the two clubs seriously weighing up this trade. I know the Dees are keen to split pick 8 as we already have one high end blue chip pick at 3.

12&29 won’t shift Port down to 7 or 8 into the cream of the crop. 12&18 yes with perhaps something coming back the other way (say a 2nd or 3rd round pick in 2020). I wonder who they’re keen on? Jackson/Kemp/McAsey would be my guess given Ryder’s exit and the Hoff retiring.

Both Port Adelaide & Essendon have 3 picks in the first half of the 4th round.

Pick 8 for Freo’s pick 10 and either our 2020 second rounder (which they have) or theirs is one I can see happening. Lets Freo get two top 10 talents this year and match the Henry bid with 22 and later picks. Better outcome for them than say getting pick 7, Henry, 22 and another second rounder next year.

This year fourth rounders don't have much value to anyone other than as points. So I expect they will try to trade out their third round picks for future picks. This way, at least they can use the point value of the fourth rounders and they should get more than enough back to cover the deficit for matching Mead.

Geelong are more keen to move #24 as part of a deal to get into the top 10 and there is no value for North in that trade anyway.

They have more picks than they can take to the draft. They just forfeit them unless they trade them out beforehand.
