Prediction Possible pick swaps

That’s not possible.

They have more picks than they can take to the draft. They just forfeit them unless they trade them out beforehand.

Fair point, you'd assume a side who doesn't have academy/NGA players next year would be interested in their 3rd or 4th this year in a swap with their future

Geelong are more keen to move #24 as part of a deal to get into the top 10 and there is no value for North in that trade anyway.

I reckon Carlton will end up trading #9 to the Cats if their preferred player is still in the draft pool at that time. Cats have 14, 17, 24 & 36 to play with so there is the basis of a deal in there somewhere.

As a Blues supporter, I'd ask for 14 & 17 :p but 14 & 24 would be way more realistic.

Agree 14 & 24 reasonable outcome and whilst we’re at it ,try swapping our 3rd rounder pick 42 for Cat’s pick 36 too.

So what picks are potentially in play?

GCS don’t need both 15 and 20? So could trade one of these if they can’t combine them for an earlier pick?

fremantle pick 22 - would they take a 2020 2nd rounder plus a couple of later 2019 picks for this to cover Henry?

ditto pick 30 from hawthorn?

How about;
Crows give : Pick 6 + 45
(will end up being 7 + 45 on draft night)

Suns give : 15, 20 + Pick 11 in 2020 draft
(Will end up being 17, 23 + 13)

Gives Suns the ability to grab 1, 2, 7 + Spend the rest of their picks in this years draft on academy players.
Gives the Crows 15, 20, 23, 28, 37, 49 on draft night this year + go into 2020 with 3x First round picks, 2x 2nd rounders and 3x 4th rounders

I firmly believe this would allow crows to get 4-5 really good players between 15-37 and a couple speculative ones after that.

Geelong would offer 14 and 17 for 6.

Suns have already prelisted any academy players that they want. They don’t have to bid for them.
Heavily weighted towards your team. (Understandably).

Horrible deal for the Suns having to give up effectively 3x First Rounders (even though 20 is the first pick in the 2nd round) for Pick 6.

If the Crows still had Pick 4 and were prepared to give up a bit more it may've worked:

ie. Crows give Pick 4, 23 & 28
Suns give 15, 20 & 2020 Pick 11.

But alas the Crows no longer have Pick 4.

The crows end of the deal is much more appealing than what GC get.
