lol @ West Coast supporters calling Harvey a cheater for knocking the ball out of Priddis's hands. Any smart player will milk a 50, just wasn't the usual act like you can't catch a football when it's thrown to you routine.

Agree 100%, and it's not just West Coast supporters. Players do all types of shit to try and con frees from the umps. It's just rare that it works. More of an indictment on the umpires (terrible standard for the day as a whole) than on Boomer.

2nd quarter was just dumb football in the conditions. Good to see we learnt how to play them in the last.

JZ us been huge lately, playing like a true leader of the football club.

BBB's roving goal was sensational. His skills below his knees are exceptional for a big guy. That goal got us going.

Higgins all silk. Loved his confidence to bomb from 60 in the third. Knew he had it.

Tackling was vastly improved.

Take out last week and considering how badly we've been playing generally and our injuries we're in a decent position still. Even year and our draw opens up after next week.

Gutsy win. Reminded me of the kind of north that slogged out wins when we responded after the scores were level at 66. Normally we would go on to capitulate. West coast fans can dish it out but can't take it. Even with the wind and the umps on their side they couldn't beat tiny little us. Must burn.

According to the mainboard (Read: WCE Supporters on the main board) West coast were hard done by regarding umpiring all day.

That is a joke. I havent seen much more biased umpiring than i saw against you guys today.

Higgins best, Jack 99.9% as good.
JMac brilliant in the last, with Boomer.
Browny's 3 goals huge. Drewy's mark in the last wasn't bad.
Defence was excellent pretty much all day but especially in the last. They killed us in the I50s but we kept them out.
91 tackles. 91 ****ing tackles.
Crock's 3qtr time address.
Basti was very good again. Spitta a brilliant game - we really missed you.
Goldy is a legend. Keeps doing it every week.

A few negatives:
A fair bit of dumb football in the first half.
Some low output games from a few we'd hope for more from.
The umpires need to review the tape of this game. As a field umpire in my second season in local footy I have some sympathy for umpires these days, but some of those missed free kicks were abysmal.
We should have brought this effort last week.
We play Sydney this week on a 6 day break.

But hey, winning form is good form!

Good post - the 91 tackles has to be the standard for the rest of the year - we do that and we'll be very hard to beat.

This issue has filled me with a rage that cannot be fathomed. The stupidity is piled so high on the ignorance nobody can see the shit they are standing in anymore.

That a gutsy and skilful footballer like Thomas has been tarred with this brush is nothing less than shameful. Even worse is that nobody outside the club seems to see it, or care.

Positive: WCE fans over here complaining about having to play in Hobart. When is the last time we got them at Etihad,I ask, which would suit us a lot better.

We only play the big clubs at Etihad - Freo for instance.

To be honest I've never seen a player try and con a free kick/50 out of an umpire before.

Guys like Bastinac, Macmillan, Gibson, they ranged from ok to good to great today but still have a hell of a lot to make up for. Still wouldn't be agienst dropping them if they have many more poor performances.
