Best players were very easy tonight. We didn;t have many of them.

5. Doughty - best for us by the proverbial mile. The oft maligned perennial young one has had a corker of a year and tonight was as good as it gets. Well done Michael.

4. Shirley - the always maligned one showed his team-mates tonight just what good honest work rate can do. If only some of his more fashionable team-mates had followed his and Dogga's lead.

3. Vince - liked his game and for me he was the best of the mid-fielders. Work rate was good both forward and back, didn't avoid the hard ball and used it well. He will be an ace mid-fielde next year with another pre-season under his belt.

2. Rutten - did a good job on the best CHF in the comp, keeping him to a modest game. If only some of the other defenders had paid the asame respect to their opponents.

1. Edwards - nearly didn't have a 5th best player but Edwards did have a good 1st half. Faded somewhat after half time and his disposal wasn't always up to it, but just snuck into this spot for his overall effort.

1. Maric - recovered from a nasty one to continue his honest effort. Not outstanding, but honest

5: Ben Rutten - Done his job really well on Brown
4: Michael Doughty - Was able to get the footy and use it pretty effectively
3: Robert Shirley - Done a great job in shutting down Black
2: Nathan Bassett - At least he tried to do somethings like trying to generate some run from defence
1: Jason Porplyzia - When the ball went forward or even in the midfield he looked dangerous and also one of the 'rare' players the put an effort in tonight

BTW: cannot believe that the AFC website rated Edwards and Knights in the bests category

3 Vince was very good early and slowed a little in the third but finished off well
2 Porplyzia solid as ever took some strong marks
1 Gill tried hard all night presented well and gave us a good mobile target

1 Rutten Brown was all over him early but stuck at it and easily took the points overall
