Redden starting to string some games together hopefully he can stay fit for the rest of the year with parry back in the team should take some pressure off him and allow him to spend more time up forward

Niiicccce.

Saw him and another rookie lister in training gear at The Port Club bar getting jugs of soft drink earlier in the year - both were looking at the player portraits on the roof, "are we up there yet?" [which they weren't] - didn't realise who he was until seeing him play for Norwoods on the gogglebox not long after.

He just looks like a player doesn't he?

And under Bassett's tutelage - Lower, Duigan, Puopolo, Gorringe - he's in the best possible place for us to profit from his apprenticeship.

Get Butcher in. Nothing to lose.

Davenport should be gone, as should pettigrew. Don't think Webb's going to make it either. Disappointing game from Redden going by the stats.

Hard to get stats spending so much time either off the ground or in the forward pocket. Redden started on the bench. Another example of how our younger kids miss out on the development they need. Redden should go to Sturt where he could play 1st Ruck.

Pettigrew, Webb and Davenport looked like what they are today- SANFL players.

Stewart's disparity between AFL and SANFL form is probably the highest in the competition. He gets nearly as many SANFL goals as he does AFL touches.

Also, lol Davenport and lol Pettigrew. Can we just delist those two hacks already?

Butcher looked good today. Works really hard and there's a bit of electricity about the play when the ball is near him. Flies for hangers, keeps the ball alive on the ground, cat like recovery. Could easily have finished with 5 today even with some ordinary delivery.

Maric is a better forward than ruck.

Surj just looks like a solid SANFL player this year. Worked his way intot he game but early on hardly noticed him.

Kennedy did some good things for Glenelg especially early.

The problem is we play Schulz in D.Stews role.

When we reversed it v Richmond last year D.Stew looked really good leading up the field and Schulz looked like a lost puppy.

I think D.Stew is a much better option but whatevs. Not sure how Butcher is gonna work with Schulz either.

Butcher is an excitement machine but needs to do the bread and butter stuff better. 3 great goals in general play. shanked some set shots.

Dont expect surj in on that performance. Shocking first half and whilst he improved hes a mile off what youd expect from him

yeah ... even last week I thought Chad and Schulz got in each other's way when both were deep - Schulz can really only play FF thus we need someone as a CHF not FP with Sarge!

That's always been Schulz's biggest concern - that he is ineffective unless he's the no. 1 option. It's why he failed at Richmond. I love Sargent, but he's gotta work on that, cos I don't want him standing in the way of Butcher's development.

I like the fact Stewart is going back getting goals, good in him, like others I noticed Schulz lack of influence last week with Chad, why is it he drifts when nit no1?

For the showdown I would move Sarge to CHB and play the Butcher as. KF.

Would have been nice to see butch get some of those chopping the arm frees that were being dished out today. Can't wait to see him At afl level.

I will be shattered if we don't take Hoskin in the draft, man I love the way that kid plays.

i think stewert has really improved this year. not as much as we would have dreamed but we all might have been unrealistic. he went from very inconsistant at sanfl level to tearing a couple of games late in the season but this year everytime we send him back to the sanfl he has been tearing it apart. i love that. we must persist with him, i dont mind dropping him on form but make sure he knows we have faith in him and dont hesitate to bring him back in as a reward for when his form warrants it. has not yet made it but has the talent to.

we need to develop key forwards going forward but there is promise there and next year butch, stewert, and even redden ( whom i really rate in the forward line and so do the coachs from the wraps they give him) fighting over the 2nd key tall spot. shultz could even find himself in the sanfl if he hits a slump.

as for the shultz/ stewert ff debate i actually thought stewys best work late last year was leading up the ground. with his height, mobility and go-go gadget arms he is very dangerous. how good he will be will be decided by,

his workrate and willingness to run, run, run

his tank,

his ability to read the play to present to as many contests as possible. late last year he was a gateway to attack. sometimes drops out of games.

if those things all improve he could be unstoppable.
