Clip floating around of Duursma pointing and yelling at Guelfi to grab a man.

Might get on his bandwagon yet.

Can only assume that under the Goddard rule it’ll be called pouting and not organisation.

So I'm just getting in. A poor showing I guess given the melts from some.

Were we really that bad, seriously? It's a praccy game. I saw that Scott apparently wasn't even there - pretty poor in itself I reckon.

What were the positives and negatives?
Positives: I didn't watch it.

Yeah, look, no team has pressure acts in these games. Players for both sides pulled short of any contest. Listening to a player on SEN the other day saying senior players just look at these games to blow out cobwebs, newbies are just glad to be out there. Next week is a much more serious hitout. Prepared to give some grace there.

It is the fringe players that worry me the most. Cox, Perkins, Jones, Weid etc. that need to show more IMO. Pushed off the ball way too easily.

Lets see how we go against the Cats in what will be a much more contested game.

Having said that, we still need an elite small forward. Grech was good but we lack serious speed like a Hill/Bolton type.

He was there, let Gia do the coaching (Smart!)

The players were just dump kicking the ball most of the game with no system or direction. Hoping that their kick would go to an Essendon player by chance. St Kilda looked well drilled, organised and moved the ball with purpose.

These blind kicks need to stop.

Also, when are Essendon ever going to have a physically strong and imposing side?

Then why do i watch other practice games and most teams show more competitiveness than us?

Can that clip float into this thread

Apparently guelfi didn’t even listen to XD either just continued to kick chase

Didn't watch. Was it as bad as what the scores suggest?
We were pedestrian at best. As I mentioned earlier, we have no aerial presence despite height and no small forward presence. These 2 areas are critically important and for me, the most concerning. I know it’s basically training simulation but there are some real truths that can become glaringly obvious early in the piece.

Skills aside, players don't go all in.

We looked bad but have watched a few of these games and the players hold back en masse. Getting through unscathed is the key.

Having said that, positional play looked way off. Saints had the corridor to themselves.

Willing to dismiss this one but if we look bad against Cats then red flags will be waving.

McGrath at his fumbly, butchering best today. Has regressed to an average footballer these days.
I spew every time he touched the footy. Oppo clubs should let him run free the amount he kicks over his shoulder and turns the ball over

It's not that we looked a bit off the pace. It was that watching that made you realise that we've been RUBBISH for 20 years, and a showing like that makes it clear how uninspiring our senior core is and that we've added to it with a drip feed rebuild and brought in recruits who aren't match winners.

20 years will be at least 30 years.
