The plan for Menzel last year was 15 games, but I reckon he ended close to 20 and with the way it ended, I wouldn't be surprised if they stick to 15-17 this year.

His outstanding contribution when fresh and fit means we have to accomodate a few rests and no preseason practice. He can play VFL Practice game when we travel to Perth and return for round 2.

Problem is that didn't work. We needed him most against Sydney and he was injured.

There's every chance that I'm remembering incorrectly, but wasn't his injury for the Sydney final unrelated to his knee (groin maybe)? If so, we can't really blame the fitness staff and his management; if not then you can go ahead and disregard this post altogether!

Good to hear Cockatoo having a good preseason. Will be interesting to see if he can increase is output in season 3.

We really need consistency and improvements from Scooter and Menegola. Both on track also.

Lang could also improve his consistency this season, would like to see him more around the wing and midfield.

Not many people talking about Murdoch, he has the pace, and nice left foot, but is it a make or break season for him?

I just think its confidence that he needs, in term of his attributes and skills, he could be as good as Isaac Smith.
I think most have us have just given up on him to be honest

Does anybody know what size oval the Cats simulated for their match simulation the other day? I'm really happy they're mainly training down at Deakin hopefully it'll improve their dismal MCG performances.
I would think that we are doing most sessions out at Deakin at the moment, there is a cricket pitch in the middle of KP for the t20 next weekend so they will be steering clear of the ground I'd say till after that is all cleaned up

I know they're doing their sessions at Deakin but just wondered basically where they put the cones/boundary line for the simulation the other day, was it MCG sized or KP size? Somebody said MCG sized which is encouraging.

I'm not sure, I'm just assuming when they are out there they practice to the full dimensions of the ground... doesn't make sense not to, particularly as we are a long way away from a KP game anyway

Yeah, that ship sailed a while ago for me, which is a shame - he's got the attributes to be a quality player but just can't seem to put it all together consistently. Definitely make or break this year imo (though I have no idea as to his contract status).

Delivery forward still a bit suspect. Seeing a lot of Cocky, 2e. We seem quicker through the middle. Guthrie doing well.

Of the young kids, Parfitt looks best. Though some of the bigger types crashing packs well.

Stewart will play. Great closing speed, easily accounting for Black.

Harry is forward. Delivery not fantastic to him though. Hawk has slimmed down I think. Playing CHF mostly
