No mention of either train on players
Isn’t the deadline today?

Feb 19th.

East Perth forward Mitch Schofield and New Zealander Mykelti Lefau are both set to get one final chance to impress for a spot on the rookie list in the practice match against Simon Goodwin's squad, which will be played across seven periods at this stage with first-choice teams to start the game.

The pair joined the club when the pre-season supplemental selection period opened on November 27 and have completed the full program across the pre-season. Richmond has one spot open and could opt to leave a spot open for the Mid-Season Rookie Draft.

Main board thinks we will finish bottom 3 and even West Coast can finish on top of us. Are these people cooked or what? 🤣

I think the Richmond dynasty and Dusty have scrambled their brains.
Well if they are wrong will be interesting come seasons end lol.

I popped along to watch today and didn't see Caesar so here are my observations.
Shortish session. Only Meatball, Bauer and Nank in rehab. Prestia was doing lots of running agility and later kicking. Not too much there to worry about. Nank doing endurance running. Looks very fit close up. Nothing obvious so I’m guessing just a management thing.

Good news is that Coulthard, Grimes, Graham, and Lynch all training in the full ground transition drill. That drill is, to my semi-trained eye, a bit Melbourne-like with positioning of players across the ground. Super hard running and fast ball movement.

There was a very short match sim too but Hopper, Taranto, Fridge sat out, again I assume a management thing.

What caught my eye: Cumbo looked sharp again, Mansell prominent and clean, McAuliffe did a couple of nice things, Sonsie used it well, Dusty, Bakes and Shai of course were supreme, Miller was attacking the ball again - has the penny dropped? Kosi was leading and marking better but still needs to improve some more. Ollie H-B was playing and doesn’t look like a complete spud. Broady, Dow, Naismith, Both Rioli’s, Hugo, Pickett, Shorty, Brown, Balta, McIntosh and Young were all ok Without being outstanding but it was a relatively low key session too.

Not training was Mate, Juddy, and not sure but Smith, Green and Campbell.

So sounds like half our team is managing something and not 100% ….. doesn’t sound good
My read on it, and i could be wrong here, with a 4 day break till the dees game they gave today a miss to ensure they play sunday. No need to risk them now. it's all about management from here on in.

Good reports on the AFL app about Gibbo Tresize, Mansell, Dow

After earning a debut in the final home and away round of 2023, where he showed he is capable of playing at the level, James Trezise has carried that momentum across his first pre-season at Punt Road, building a case to be picked in Adem Yze's first team in just over three weeks' time.

Rhyan Mansell has been one of the big improvers on the track over the pre-season as he fights for a permanent spot in Richmond's best 22 in 2024 after being the sub in his final three appearances of last season.

Thomson Dow has caught the attention of the coaches, including new midfield coach Chris Newman, and looks set for greater opportunity this year after managing 17 senior appearances to date and no more than six in one season since being selected at pick No.21 in the 2019 AFL Draft.

Especially for guys who are essentially best 22 anyway
Don’t have anything to prove so why smash them into the ground with practice games and the season around the corner

nobody has had more than 5 days of continuous pre season without a niggle
The list is too old and/or fragile. We should have had a clean out of at least 4 more players and traded back into the first couple of rounds.

Name another club who has just 2 draft picks after finishing bottom 6 with an aging list. It's insane.
