We are just holding on.....it's difficultNo sack Yze thread yet.. incredible restraint by this board
So its top 4 thensam mclure has us finishing 16th
Stupid post…Stupid comment. All supporters want our players to be good, Cumberland included. However he has not shown enough since his first senior year to deserve being selected in the senior side. When posters here keep selecting him in the first 22, they are basing it on hope(Love fest). Where is the form to warrant a senior selection. At this stage Cumbo is all show, no go.
Just on Noah Cumberland I get it we all have our thoughts on certain players but the below should remind you all on his talents.
I still think he has a lot to offer. Season hasn't even started but I believe as it goes on he'll force his way in by showing his wares in the ressies. 2023 was a write off "confidence shot" body language wasnt great and just got down on himself when he made mistakes.
This all started from Hardwick picking on all his deficiencies and then you have Maurice Junior who Hardwick wouldn't say anything about even when he was stinking it up. On a positive, we do seem to have once again built up a good core of small to med size forwards> Cumberland, Sonsie, Steely Green, Campbell, Coulthard, Mansell, Clarke & Junior (Lefau tallish but can play short due to his speed and mobility)
Cumbo has enough weapons to make the best 22. Is strong and fit and knows how to find the right spots in forward 50
He has kicked 27 goals and 21 points in his 18 games. Furthermore has laid 40 tackles in 18 games.
From his 18 games * Includes 1 game as an unused substitute, 3 games as an activated substitute, and 1 game subbed off.

Agree on both McAuliffe and Smith who both showed they will earn games this year along with Tresize. Ralphsmith & MRJ may not make it but Brown deserves to be persevered with although not at the expense of team balance. Clarke was good in the 2nd half last week and his skills are desperately neededGotta bring in Cumberland, was a huge spark in the second half of the VFL. Miles and miles ahead of Campbell and Green if you ask me, absolute miles.
McAuliffe surely showed enough to get a call-up for Graham.
Kozi... I don't think even worth bothering, he is very average sadly, but probably have to play him until Lynch is back. Balta forward, for now, but I also don't see it lasting as others have said. I reckon he'll go back and we'll play Lynch plus a resting ruck later in the season.
Here's what I'm thinking for round ZERO.
Grimes, Young, Broad
Vlastuin, Gibcus, Short
Taranto, Hopper, Pickett
Martin, Koschitzke, Baker
Bolton, Balta, Cumberland
Naismith, Prestia, Dow
D. Rioli, McAuliffe, Ross, XXXXX
I have no idea who plays in that last spot. Maybe let's just play Maurice Rioli and let him chase like a madman, hopefully that generates a few goals. I would not personally be picking Campbell or Green, and I'm probably done with McIntosh now. Brown is one defender too many with Rioli on the bench as the 7th. Ralphsmith a big no, and Sonsie is suspended. I doubt we play two rucks, so maybe Clarke plays but otherwise yeah, give Rioli a crack.
We lack quality in our pressure forwards so I REALLY THINK DAN RIOLI SHOULD GO FORWARD, and give young Smith a try at half back with his speed. Yes Rioli has been a very good half back, but... we need him forward, we're stacked with half backs.
Anyway, we might be in strife.
had us 16th and carlton 1st and wins the flagSo its top 4 then

That's funny because his ex missus rates him 16th out of 16 alsosam mclure has us finishing 16th
think he likes the other white meatThat's funny because his ex missus rates him 16th out of 16 also
If that's the case sounds like Kmac fitted in perfectly with the rest of the side picked and playing...Which match did he play well in?? neither of the two I watched. He did get a bit of the ball against the pies, but nothing came of most of his possessions IMO. You are however correct, in saying none of us know his KPI's, so we don't know what he is being judged on, I am more than happy to accept that. But it would suggest running up and down the wing, gaurding space, maybe getting there but failing to tackle or impact the contest, untidy disposal and being a great bloke must be his KPI's, because I don't see him doing much more on the field at the moment.
2 losses in the pre seasonSuns are looking average AF so far this pre season. Break even in the middle and manage King/Lukosius up forward and we'll win.
That's why people need to calm down about our performance.Suns are looking average AF so far this pre season. Break even in the middle and manage King/Lukosius up forward and we'll win.
