At least as tall as Gibbo in that pic so puts him at around 196cm. Could catch Miller by Christmas I reckon at 198cm on this trajectory.
And 209 by season start

Fella done a good job.

Fair assessment from a neutral fan. Well done mate kudos.

Tiger fans know however that the RFC would've faired somewhat better in 2023 if they actually had hit the season fit and ready and if they had Nankervis, Soldo, Gibcus and Lynch fit for the whole season and a coach that was actually truly invested.

Too many blokes got games for free that shouldn't have, and the kids should've received more games.

Thats what happens when a caretaker is looking for the big gig, they stick to what they know to hopefully get enough brownie points to win the job.

Definitely basing a few of his opinions on the musings of us lot (hello there) which is wise because we are very smart and handsome.

nah

pies finished second last in 2021 and made the prelim the next year (with umpies) then won the flag this year (with umpies)

our list is better than pies

just need to get the umpires to go down on us the same way

A lot of our potential to do well is tied up with the 5 that we picked up 2 years ago, Gibcus, Sonsie, Banks, Clarke and Brown are at a point in their career where they are ready to show whether they are AFL quality and propel us into the 8. If all or most of them do well we will bounce back quickly. You can add Bauer, Tresize and Coultard to that and MJR. I guess most of them haven't had enough senior exposure and I hope Yze gives them more senior time than the previous 2 coaches.

Also Smith Campbell Green Kosi Cumberland
The above boys will now have 2 preseasons and looking at smith in the vids and Green and Campbell in training
They have all physically developed to play parts and take their chances when presented

Hopefully Yze/Morris play Green in his actual position in the midfield rather than small forward.....

Heaps better than the ”professional” journalists

It's sad but true. But now that watered down Hardwick has fu@ked off we've got a coach who's going to reward the kids with opportunities. We definitely need Gibcus to become the player we hope he can be. I'm pretty bullish about Ross, Banks, Sonsie, Cumberland and Brown. If Clarke can become consistent he'll be a player. If Ryan can harden up and clunk grabs he'll have a long career.

I'll be surprised if Ralphsmith or Rioli Jr make it as both don't seem hungry. Would like to hope Dows not another 1st round bust. He needs a few solid blocks of senior games with decent midfield minutes. Maybe Prestia has to make way and spend more time up forward to prolong his body and give the kids a fair crack. Trezise and Coulthard could be reliable role players.

Anyway it's not all doom and gloom we won 3 flags have had little access to the top end talent and consistently squander 1st rounders because our recruiter sees something he likes that fails to materialise. I'm confident dusty will extend 2 more years. In 2 years our warchest will be massive and teams like Gold Coast, Sydney, North and GWS will be ripe for the plundering.

But yeah looking at other teams lists and top 5 players especially ours looks pathetic on paper.
TOP 5:
Josh Gibcus missed entire season
Jack Ross played out of position on wing been good not great
Samson Ryan couldn't buy a mark was good that he got 14 games but realistically could've been dropped 10 times
Judson Clarke inconsistent with far too many games as sub. Would kick his customary goal a game with a few glimpses.

Thomson Dow looked to be delisted til the last month. Been there 4 years, as a first rounder really should be further ahead. Hopefully this year he shows what the recruiter identified in him when he was touted as a pick in 40-50 range.
Jesus our top 5 is actually depressing reading. How many more years til Tom Green shows up lol.

This article cleverly made it 23yo as of Jan 1st. Let’s look at 23yo as of Round 1, and see how the Pies youth looks:

Naicos
McReery
Macrae
??
??

So the ‘devil is in the detail’ …. Pies depth of youth is every bit as poor as ours, but because the date they chose was Jan 1st and not round 1 it includes Bobby Hill and Quaynor so they rank 4th…

Our depth of ‘talented’ youth is as good as I’ve seen in over a decade… whether talent translates to on-field performance is the question that will be answered in 2024.

He kicked 70+ goals in an awful side…Worth every cent, and kudos for staying loyal…

Yeah, perhaps. But he was 76th in comp for Score involvements… so he either kicked a goal or did nothing. Terrible for tackles, goal assists, inside-50’s and any other metric for a well rounded forward. Even in contested marks he was 61st. But in fairness goals are the most important stat and he did well there.

But remember he never leaves the ground and he was the Roos only forward target. So everything gets directed at him in every minute of every game.

I reckon even Chol would’ve kicked a swag given those circumstances.

Hope so. Sonsie’s only real knock were his weak efforts and low work rate. Everything else is pretty solid.

If he can fix that in the off-season, then he’ll be a big asset for us. Sounds like he’s going in the right direction

Sonsie was BOG at half time of the EF v Lions at the GABBA in just his 8th game of footy. He was touted as a potential future #1 when 16yo before COVID and injuries hit. His upside is enormous and if he develops his intensity and gains confidence he could be the biggest steal of the 2021 draft as his talent is unquestioned.

Also struggles with the mental side which was the main factor in his form drop before being drafted. Like a lot of young blokes COVID threw him for 6.

There has been much said about this kid, would love for an honest interview where he tells us first hand.

He’s the one I was hoping for most in that draft to get to us with our 2nd pick.
Has great skills just needs to knuckle down his repeat efforts and build the tank.
I think he will be a gun
