The mildest Christmas Day I can remember at 12 degrees. We haven’t had the heating on at all, which must be a first.

That was a summer day last time I was in the UK. A romantic white Christmas would have been awesome. It's a shame.

Well, wind shifted and it dropped from just above 30 to just below 25 with that wind change. What I heard was the usual bang from the roof panel that is le broken and flapping cause old and decayed and no ladder to get up there to remove it at present (well I have ladders but they be broken), and what do I then see as I walk back inside?

A panel from a wooden wall we have on the other side decided then and there to detatch from the top but remain on the base and in the process go about 5mm from a car window on the way down before it rebounded back to the wall with a wind shift.

I've since had gloves on and ripped that mofo off that wall, it is now grounded, and yay wind shift, no more 37C.

I feel you fellas. My ex does everything she can to make my life a nightmare. She has also done everything she can to psychologically damage our kids through our breakup. She's an alcoholic and a full blown narcissist. The system is so skewed against men it's shameful. Luckily I have my kids 50% of the time so they have some stability in their life. I try to just grab joy when I can. I'm useless to them if I don't look after myself. That's the key. I'm at my awesome girlfriend's house now and my boys get dropped off to me at my place at 1pm today. Can't wait for them to open the presents I got them. Today is a good day.

Anyway.... Happy Christmas to all. I dig you people... even the ones I occasionally disagree with because you're wrong about stuff. If it's at all possible, I strongly suggest you all buy a guitar.
Great suggestion on the axe! I was at my sisters place for boxing day with my family (Christmas is at my wife's family, this year Geelong, for a ****ing Vegan Christmas....don't ask!)

My nephew has grown up around muso's and is now learning keyboards through school, who want him to do every music option they have. AS our studio is at my sisters house, and my brother in law is the drummer and my studio gear and all purpose axe are there, boxing day turned into a bit of jam. The nephew has learnt 7 Nation army on the keyboard and Thunderstruck, so a quick google of the music to 7 nation army (the easiest song not recorded by Pink) and we played through a few tunes. Very hammered on bourbon, so I can't say my timing was spot on when we started few Metallica tunes, but a great day all the same.......buy the axe everyone!!!

Good to know, I have it on the table, so expect lemon fresh?

Haha jumped on for a quick look while on holidays in vietnam. Is this what happens when theres no training .
Anyway i ,ll jump in . Its been so nice (ignorance is bliss perhaps) of not having to walk the streets amongst drug addict s or hear about home invasions for a week or two. Even in the slummy parts of Saigon you still feel a hell of a lot safer walking around. We met a young vietnamese fella who was moving to Melbourne for a year and i actully felt ashamed of this city/state of ours.

You’re experiencing ‘holiday utopia’ where the reality doesn’t match your fantasy. I have mate who lives in Ho Chi Minh, he works for the DFAT and he has told all of his family and friends to stay away from the joint. So be careful.

Go Sainters!

Add that to automation replacing people in manufacturing, and a whole lot of jobs are disappearing. Why do you think the gradual move to pricing energy as a control mechanism of the masses has been quietly rolled out under the "climate change" banner......with effective indoctrination you can get those incapable of critical thought to assist for their own execution!
An issue is the cost and availability of labour. Baby boomers. Have retired and the size of working cohort in a downward spiral. Hence, more automation needed for higher cost of labour.

The trick is getting the government right. Letting gas exports be 5-10 times higher than domestic consumption has led to higher prices - as domestic gas is more expensive and industries shut down.

Just installed two Dash Cams, I suppose I am part of the crypto fascist big brother deep state now
My son installed one for me a while back.
The way people drive these days, thinking a stop sign is just a suggestion, it’s not a bad thing.

Aaaahh, the retort of the intellectually challenged. "Gross invasion of your personal boundaries shouldn't matter if you have nothing to hide" !! Using the pretence that I MAY do something I shouldn't as a justification to extend the powers and reach of those in authority is something that some people will only recognise as a mistake when it's too late.

What is the old expression:
First they came for the religious people, and I said nothing, because I am not religious.
Then they came for the educated people, and I said nothing, because I am not educated.
Then they came for the unionists, and I said nothing, because I am not in a union.
Then they came for me, and there was no-one left to speak up for me......
Exactly they won't be saying that when their facial recognition details gets used to defraud them or falsely accuse them of some wrong doing.

It's like everything in the wrong hands it will be very damaging.

Installing cameras into everybody's homes that the police can watch at all times will solve a lot of crimes, and prevent a lot more.
Are you prepared to give them access into your house at all times?

Argentina seems to be a test case for a lot of things at the moment. The are attempting to roll out crime prediction tech that will arrest people for crimes not yet committed. Crazy shit.

Where do you live? I still feel safe in Melbourne. I reckon it's not hearing the news that lets you relax.

Old people would feel a lot safer if they didn't listen to 3aw or read the Herald Sun.
Agree wholeheartedly, though the suggesting that the other parts of Victoria beyond "the end of the tramlines" people live in fear is a bit hard to take. Where I live in Rural Vic, It's still normal for people to not lock their homes and leave their keys in their cars!

Yeh it is for sure , but i guess the druggies aren’t really visible here . I live up the road from frankston and if you’ve walked around frankston town lately or anytime catching the train to the end of the line after the footy you’d know what I’m talking about . The country towns are full of meth these days too .

I got one with the new car 2 year ago. So far all I hear from it, is "an impact was detected" that is after I have parked the car gone inside a shopping mall come back out and started tge car

I don't feel safe, and I'm in Heidelberg West

Years ago a mate of mine was a Council Engineer. One of the guys there went around changing all the give way signs to stop signs. My mate, observing that they shouldn't have been stop signs since they didn't meet the criteria, made him change them all back.
Now most places wouldn't have done that.
Put stop signs everywhere where you don't need them, and you end up with people ignoring them.

My L - Plate son was driving on the freeway the other day, i'm thinking wtf, why has he slowed down to 80. There was a stupid advisory speed posted, and of course everyone else was ignoring it because it was stupid.

People commonly ignore road work limits ( at a risk of fines ) because they know there is no-one there working.

Victoria in particular need to stop putting stupid instructions on the road , and then maybe people will follow what's there.
