Whereas the more I look at it the more I like it. And I’m, generally speaking, a traditionalist.

I think their thinking was spot on, though I concede not everyone will agree.

I think part of the main thinking with the new crest is that St Kilda isn't just a football club any more. So ST K.F.C is off brand.

Overall it's pretty good.

I do miss "Fortius Quo Fidelius" . Strength through Loyalty is part of who we are. Wish they could find a way to tie it in with some of our other branding.

Off topic, of flipping course, but a while ago there was some info about ways to manipulate the terms of board members. It was something like Bassett, or any of them, could be unanimously nominated by the rest of the board members (&, I presume, if unopposed) they could serve extra time, although, maybe not a full term. I also think that this is repeatable.

Time Trial 9/1/25 New
Time trial and training were on today. They usually don't do much ont

A time trial and training were on today. Didn’t take detailed notes just some observations. A large group. No surprise who won the time trial. It was a sight to behold when he put the after burners on towards the end. The only person in rehab was Liam Henry, Tauru was just observing the training groups. Lance Collard appeared towards the end but not training or rehabbing. King, Windy Stocker, Caminiti all training.

I believe someone mentioned it is on the shorts, but I agree with you.
I wasn’t happy they dropped it.

That's a good point, and one that I missed. Matt Finnis loved to tick those boxes. I know it was for publicity, which would have made some sort of sense if we were in anyway relevant to begin with...but the endless games highlighting some cause, when we were so average and poor to watch, was as deflating as it was nauseating.

Hey fellas. Just watched James Van Es train with us today, looked in pretty good nick. Just after some thoughts on his game and what he did/didn’t show at the Saints? I know he spent the last 18 months with an ankle injury which doesn’t make it easy to comment but any thoughts on what he showed/didn’t show initially would be appreciated.

Hope you blokes stay injury free during the preseason, Boxshall is a ripper and Travaglia was my favourite player in the draft, you did very well.

Had continual ankle problems. I thought he looked great in his first pre season but never got continuity. Hopefully he can stay fit and see how far he can go. He's got good size and strength.

I really liked him in his underage years. Strong, athletic and a good footy IQ but I stopped following him as soon as he was drafted elsewhere then he fell off the face of the earth with his injury.

he was a KPD that we drafted. they're cursed.

I'd add, he had some BDE. A few comments from his limited VFL games suggested he was aggressive and knew how to use his size. Stuck up for a few blokes as well and doesn't take a backward step when the non-footy stuff gets going on field. Bit of white line fever.

He’s a very good size for a KPD. The only knock on him is his kicking skills. To say they’re woeful would be being polite. I hope he makes it onto your list. He’s young so plenty of time to work on his skills.
