What makes you think that they weren't done in August?

Seems very likely that he's rested the groin in the hope the inflammation goes - which is standard.

Now we don't know whether Doha is because he has ongoing inflammation or because they're setting him up to be less likely to have a re-occurrence.

Vinnie said you can't get into an elite rehab program at the drop of a hat which is why he's doing in November. which is what I replied to.

Exactly. Who knows whether those in Doha haven't been monitoring his rehab & now is the appropriate time for him to go over there to receive the specialist program they have designed for him.

I think Vinnie's guessing. Seems to me that this is ideal timing. Towards the end of the player's break he heads off to Doha to get advice on a program to help with his issue and Wade gets advice on how to manage his fitness - things to do and things to avoid and they return in time for the start of official preseason to crack into the program.

on a side note why isn't Degoey due back yet? Houston is already back and he'd played later in the season.

JDG isn't due back yet - and it sounds like he will be returning prior to him being due back. You seem to be looking for a problem that isn't there.

The senior players aren't required back until the 25th. It's not like he's not doing anything..

Isn't it better he gets his groin issues fixed before returning to full training..& he is due back by the 25th.

Houston's season finished earlier than our players did due to his suspension.

None of the senior players are due back yet. Anyone attending is cutting their break short and doing so volunatarily. Plus I would have thought this is cutting his break short voluntarily.

Reef looked like he was using his pace and attacking to run off D50 reminds me of Darcy Moore in that way , then runs through the middle kicking inside 50

That'll be his best role. With Noble gone, we need more speed out of our back half!

I'm a little concerned that Reef's problem with that role will be his decision making - he looked good in the Frankston game from memory, when he got the ball and charged forward, looked a bit lost when he needed to deliver it. Guess he'll get a chance in the VFL to build on his decision making and disposal

Hopefully that's what preseason training with the backs will help sort out.

Oh really?

Oh that's ok then

I just assumed he would want 36 like he had at GWS and his idol Dane Swan
Yeah, but seems he mentioned it on a podcast he would rather 12, he wanted 9 but figured Houston would get it.

The other thing is he might be close to fully recovered but they are visiting the facility to work on prevention techniques and core strengthening plans to try and fire proof him moving forward
The people crying over this need serious help
This!

All senior players aren’t due back until the 25th

But generally plenty of olde players come back before that

De Goey it’s obviously understandable why he isn’t yet

Who out of any our (past/current) defenders, does he/his role most remind you of?

Love the idea of Murphy helping him out too in his new role.
Reckons he reminds me a bit of how darcy moore plays with reading the play, and using that to attack off half back, kicking through the middle of the ground

I really hope this last ditch effort to turn Reef into something works out

If he turns into a defender then it’s probably ideal given our lack of youth in the taller back department. At 194 he can play undersized key back. Basically replaces Murphy. Might even be taller than Murphy is?
