I'm absolutely convinced we're going to smash the Tigers, and I'm prepared to make a fool of myself by putting it down here for all to see. Even before we know the changes to the team.

Essendon to win by at least 40 points, with my guess being a 73 point victory.

I'd like to see some people get off their "oh we could lose, it's a danger game" fence and come out and say what they believe we will do. Anyone can say "we might lose" and then come out with "but I thought we'd win, and we did" afterwards.

Lets see some reputations on the line!

It all comes down to our attitude. If we turn up we'll win. If not we'll lose. Thats the danger we face.

Dons by 27 (hopefully)

Every week after a win is a 'Dumb Thread' week... there have been a few this week...

Seems some of us never learn, especially when playing Richmond. I'll just be happy with any sort of win.

80 points? 73 points? LOL. You wish. We haven't won by a margin anywhere near that against any team for over 5 years... won't start this weekend either...

They're the worst team in the league by miles. 80 is what we should beat them by, they're terrible. They were terrible against Hawthorn... who themselves were absolutely terrible and who themselves are bottom 4. They lost to Adelaide the week before by 50 who are bottom 4.

Make no mistake, I am not getting carried away with Essendon's victory over St. Kilda, Richmond are that bad.

Put your money where you mouth is or get out of this thread. This isn't the "oh I am scared thread" it's the predict a margin.

Are you going for a draw?

Also, bigish wins in the last 5 years:

2010 43 over Hawthorn
2009 69 over Carlton
2009 48 over Melbourne
2009 40 over Richmond
2009 44 over Hawthorn
2008 48 over Collingwood
2008 55 over North Melbourne
2007 64 over Brisbane

So yeah, just last year we won a game by 70 odd points. Stop clutching at your Mum's dress. You support Essendon, not Richmond; we're allowed to be confident every now and then.

As AS9 said, if we play with the intensity of the last three weeks, and don't turn up to stand around for a few hours (like we so often do against rubbish sides), we'll win by 53 points.

We could very well lose, and that's the frustrating thing about our side in recent history, but we shouldn't.

We should absolutely obliterate them.

Agree with your summary.

Essendon by 63.

Too much arrogance here for my liking. We thought we could just turn up and beat them last year and we got our pants pulled down. In fact we have very bad track record of dropping games we are expected to win. Richmond were much improved last week and we should respect them and really turn up to play and play with the intensity we have in the last 3 weeks.

If you're not prepared to put down a margin get out of the thread.

Totally agreed.

You'd swear we were Geelong the way some people are carrying on... they never seem to learn... I remember a similar thread before the second Richmond game last year predicting all sorts of ridiculously high margins and these people either a. soon disappeared straight after the game OR b. conveniently declared afterwards they always 'had a feeling' Richmond were going to win (despite tipping them to lose by 15 goals). There is always Bay 13 for that crap.

We're definitely not at a stage in our development where we can automatically assume we are going to win a game and especially by a big margin.

Of course I'll be tipping the Dons for the person so interested before, but I'm expecting it to be very close. 8 points.

Wash your mouth out! They may have had a couple of years of success for the first time in 40-odd years but we're Essendon, only during 2 decades have we not won a flag.

Kids of today!
