As Benjamin Franklin once said - “what we do in life echoes in eternity”

Go get ‘em boys.

Actually the quote seems to be attributed to the real Marcus Aurelius, in his work Meditations; though I can't track down a translation that even comes close.

"Quod in vita facimus, in aeternum resonat"

I do know it was quoted by Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russ Crow) in the film 'Gladiator'.

I'm actually just pontificating now to stop myself chewing my finger nails down to the bone. ;)

I can't believe we are in a prelim!!!
Knocked off Richmond and Melbourne after an average 2nd half of the season.
Whatever happens, really I'm really proud of our club!!!!
Go LIONS!!!!

Yup it would take a pretty uncompetitive performance tonight for my post match thoughts not to start with "Proud of 'em".

Obviously once you make a prelim, a loss will be painted as a missed opportunity, but honestly, after the Richmond win, everything else has already felt like gravy.

Wet weather will be our ally tonight I reckon. Sure you can say they've had plenty of rest... but they are old, tired bodies. I hope we come out with some big hits, push them down into the mud, hold them and give them little niggles all night long. Make sure every time they get up it's hard on them old Cat bodies.

Also if anything playing 1 game in three weeks is probably not ideal... just saying.

That is what Zorko tried in round 23. Just play footy.

Feeling strangely calm.

We've hit some form . We arguably have our best team in bar Adams. MCG hoodoo broken. They're a good team but nothing special.

We give it our best shot , which I know the guys are up for , hope for average to better than average luck and no serious injuries, and we see whether we're good enough on the night.

We'd take where we're at now 3 weeks ago so let's try and enjoy it if at all possible.

I wont be on the Game Day thread tonight (bad for my mental health), but hopefully we will all be posting in celebration later tonight.

A special message to those attending tonight... Drown out those Cats supporters - "Lions, Lions, Liiiiioooons, Liiiiioooons...". You are all worth at least 3 goals.

Get the feeling it won't be too close. Either way

For us it'll be an effort like the last 2 weeks or a big let down.

And for them they'll either be shut down through the middle by our pressure or will break us.

Probably an outcome like one of the halves we played last week

That's good.

The last 2 games have been tough going mentally for supporters.

Lions chant loud and proud please peoples....let those woosey Cats know the Lions are up and about!
I noticed last week with the the Lions chant some supporters trying to chant Brisbane.....all on the same page please for awesomeness.

Bucketting down here in the Phon.

As Manue would say
A little bit more gravy would be nice
