Port - slept in our own beds.

- Spent the first month in the hub because the VFL's initial strategy was to move all clubs out of covid safe states and into more dangerous states with the eventual goal of an 18 club hub in Victoria.
- Played a massive 7 of 17 games in our home state.
- Had 3 players suspended for breaching covid protocols in a state with 0 covid cases, protocols that only exist because the self proclaimed state capital of the world Victoria was the only place in Australia to fu** covid up.

We've almost certainly had the hardest schedule of any team in the AFL this year, and this was pointed out repeatedly during the season... right up until the pointy end when we were still on top of the ladder and they went from wanting to praise us to making excuses against us.

Now somehow waking up in the middle of the night to go play a same day game on the other side of the country is worse than the pressure of not having a suitable nail salon near the expensive resort you are staying in.

Over the last 12 hours or so I keep going back to the Advertiser front page of the paper on Prelim final day. The headline read: "It's Time."

I feel the same way about tonight as I did then on that Friday night in September of 2004. Just hoping for a bigger margin than that night. Carn Port, get it done.
