Build up is going to be insane!
Hoping it will be Collingwood this and Collingwood that all week.

Alas, I'll spend all week imagining Colligwood playing out of their skins, kicking goals out of their arses and the ball bouncing into their arms. :(
Hopefully, I'll be pleasantly surprised yet again. :)

I don’t believe the trip to Perth , third week , wet last night, 6 day break will make an ounce of difference . I think people forget these are professional Athletes fittest of the fit , last night game wasn’t tough it was a training drill for pies , they kicked badly and should have won by 40+
Yep. Scoreboard said 10 points in the end, but that merely masked over everything that the game served up.
Even when GWS came back to level or a goal in front, did Collingwood ever look like losing.
That was as comprehensive a 10-point win as you will ever see.

Yep agree , if we can stop De Goey and sidearse it will go a long way to winning the game , I think our best is good enough to win of course.

Massive game. I have rated the Pies all year.
I think they are the best side we have played this year (our losses nothwithstanding).
nank needs to do what he has done twice already this year and break even or even beat Grundy.
Sidebottom is a gun. Need to quell his inside 50s. Such a smart used of the ball.
De Goey was awesome last night. I expect Grimes to go to him.

I also rate the Pies, Josh Thomas bobbed up and kicked 4 goals last time we met and Maynard kept Daniel to just a goal.

I still expect us to win but in a close one.

But they didn't, in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs they kicked 3.6 to 7.1, hardly a training drill. If they only kick 3 goals in two qtrs against us we will smash them.

Pies have just been doing enough in the last six weeks and slowly getting some players back.

Have shown glimpses against West Coke and GWS. It sure need to be on from he start and sustain it for fur quarters against your mob.

From here on out it is all above the shoulders and players sticking to their structures and not missing opportunities.

For the Pies to be any shot we would need to nail our shots when the chance presents itself as clearly will not be afforded any reprieve by Richmond.

Will be interesting to see now two x two week layoffs will play off against match fitness, I would say maybe some cobwebs to be blown out for Richmond and this is what Collingwood must make advantage of and go in with a decent lead in the first quarter.

Then the planets align and be good enough to hold our lead, which is easier said than done.

Only a few days to wait but not here to make up the numbers, and on the night anything can happen.

interesting set up. I think Tiges win on pretty much being a better, more even team and game plan. We are just a numbers at the ball, low finesse type club that has a very good midfield - in finals though that may be enough - if we can get the forward line going or we switch up our points to goals ratio then we're definitely a chance. Tiges should win but we're not the kind of game they will want to play, they'll much rather West Coast or Melb the week after, I think.

Quite relaxed about the match in comparison to say meeting GWS, who are unpredictable.
Avoid the media hype, especially Tony Jones on Ch 9.
Collingwood has the four goalkickers:
H-Elliott, De Goey, Thomas and Stephenson.
They kick roughly 40 goals each per year, that is their bread and butter.
Adams plays the crucial role feeding the ball out.

* Only this season

I think the Pies are better on the inside to outside transition than us and we can't let them get a lot of clean ball on the spread. Besides that I think we outmatch them both forward and back and I haven't seen them to be able to go four quarters at all this season. Against the Eagles last week I reckon was the best I've seen them play this season and the Eagles rolled them in the last three minutes when they were spent. Similar against the Giants late in the game. As long as we do our thing we should get over the line by four goals. Nearly every team has claimed they could match us for three quarters but really it's a level of pressure very few can withstand for a full four.

Agreed. I was more worried about playing against gws because you never know with them and they have the talent.
I'm happy for the pies to get all the media attention while we focus the game.

This is key, we stop treloar and sidearse getting clean ball on the outside and we should be too good everywhere else. If we give them easy clearances and allow them to spread we could be in for a big shock imo.

Pressure needs to be dialled up to 11 all game long. Dont give them a sniff.

Then of course just pray that the umps dont absolutely ****ing destroy us.

But what happens if they allow Dusty and Lambert to get easy ball on the outside as well as letting Prestia and Shedda of the leash ?
