This is what the interstate nuffies and teams like GeeLOL don't understand. Those peanuts get their advantage all through the year with an actual home ground and mostly during the finals. So much salt last year when Adelaide played us at "our home ground" yet the obvious trade off is never mentioned. Richmond finished on top of the ladder this year and have had 0/2 home ground advantages in this years finals. If we win and Melbourne win it will be 0/3. Just funny how these morons don't understand that.

On last night’s performance, I’d expect us to win this by 8-10 goals.

The Giants were atrocious for huge parts of the game and the Pies couldn’t put any scoreboard pressure on. We will not constantly turn the ball over on the way out of the back half like GWS did and we’ll sure as shit pressure the Pies better than the orange men.

Having said that, we all know that isn’t the way it works and Friday is a completely different game. Prelims are about as nerve wracking as footy gets for players and the crowd is going to be mental. This game is going to separate pretenders from the genuine in a glaring way.

I’m extremely cautiously optimistic of a win, but I’m also as nervous as all get up. I can not handle the prospects of losing to these ferals.

I expect us to win but careful not to be sucked into what the oppo did for us last year. Good teams make the opposition look ordinary. Remember how we kept winning because "the opposition played crap"? A bit like Hawks fans thought they played poorly against us in the first final when the realisty is they played their little pants off. Collingwood made GWS look terrible and without a system at all. The pressure mounted and they couldn't even execute basic skills. I thought Collingwood played terrifically, and the last quarter gut running from Treloar, Sidebottom, WHE and co was exceptional. Whether they've got enough to beat us is another thing but I wouldn't undersell their performance at all.

That has happened all year and I don’t expect it to change against the darlings. Ed has probably sold them that a successful Collingwood would be great for the game. In the past I wouldn’t have bought into any conspiracy theories but Gil is shady as **** and I wouldn’t put anything past him. I, too, thought Collingwood was impressive. At the same, they were playing a bottom-of-the-eight team, not the minor premiers.

For those that are potentially nervous going into Friday Nights' game, watch the second quarter from last night. After the Umps put away their collingwood goggles, GWS starting playing the exact same forward pressure that we apply. It was only for 15 minutes or so, but it was clearly evident, that the cold pies simply folded and fumbled their way through the quarter. Imagine THAT type of pressure for 4 quarters ?

We are easily an eight goal better side. Bring it on !

Doubt it, his possessions rarely hurt us do if he gets it 30 times and gives it to someone else who wastes it (like last time) then his possessions mean nothing. He is a good player but the comp is full of them.

Pretty much. If it has gone up, it wouldn’t be by more than 2-5%.

There was an announcement a few weeks back about certain categories of finals tickets going up this year.

Can the Pies skills stand up to finals pressure that they haven't seen before. The pressure will be a level up on the West Coast game and 2 levels up on the GWS.
There's quite a few questionable kicks in the Pies team and some of them will have plenty of ball.
I think this is where it goes all wrong for the Pies.
