Broad is the most pointless selection ever, there isn’t even a match up for him. His rubbish form in the QF is just the icing on the cake.
Rubbish form in the QF? Did you notice Jack Gunstan at all in that game? No?

And the guy who played on him was...

And Butler would be playing if he had been able to get back from the ankle injury quicker.

If Butler was fit he would be named, however - it does not explain this

EMG

  • Ryan Garthwaite,
  • Ivan Soldo,
  • Brandon Ellis,
  • Sam Lloyd

i think we can all but guarantee that Butler is gone at the end of the year - i can understand him not being named in the 22, but to not get an Emergency spot is pretty telling, rumour has it he was training pretty strongly. Dare say it came down to he & Lloyd, with Lloyd being rewarded for his loyalty - I think however Butler made the more sense as we have no cover for a pressure forward or speed.... both Ellis and Lloyd play the at the same speed, honestly think only 1 needed to be in the emergencies

broad will have a lock down role on someone which means vlastuin can roam for intercept marks
Broady will get the same job as he did so well on Gunstan in the QF

Mihocek will be the one that Broad will do a number on in the prelim

Although not a gun player Mihocek will attract a lot of forward passes from their mids and Broady by fist or body will ensure they are wasted opportunities.

Why would Garthwaite be first emergency? Is he back-up for Astbury who apparently has the flu?

I think it’s pretty clear he not 100% so not worth the risk. Especially when there’s no obvious out. Best 22 when fit though. I think the emergencies are spot on.

the butler 100 percent fit and flying was probably a balmey special, his fingerprints are all over it and dimma played along, to take some of the heat off dusty. butts would have known and not had his hopes up.

Gunston still got 18 touches and it was a wet game anyway. Roughead was the only tall across both teams that hit the scoreboard...
Yes, but he was completely ineffectual and half of those touches came in the last quarter.

For the first 3 quarters at the game, I barely noticed he was playing.

Broad is an excellent stopper.

Good mate of mine is a Dr at the Epworth & a tigers fan/member - just messaged me a worried face emotoji that both Astbury & Cotchin were snuck in from the back and have been placed on drips & being monitored by Andrew Daff. Cotch is less of an issue than Astbury, with the drip being precautionary - but very real concerns over asbury - apparently has a temp pushing 40 and not holding in his fluids. They are not sure what it is..... they think it could be The Ebola.....

Nothing like an outrageous overreaction... It's been a while.

I can only hope this was an inside joke I'm not aware of.... Or sarcasm.
