whats every1 obsesion with delisting fletcher, has def not been one of our worse has had a couple of bad disposals and everyone wants the AA delisted, one of our best against NM

Agree M2M, there seems to be somewhat of an obsession.

Eagle Ant - how much of Thomson have you watched?

Thanks CK, I was going to ask all of those that have nominated Thomson to be delisted whether they had watched him. Only marginally behind Ryan Davis in the rapidness of improvement over summer IMHO. In fact, Worsfold was saying him and Houlihan were next in line to debut.

Embley and Seaby wont be trade bait. Sullivan will not be ready in 09.

Perhaps Seaby when the new club comes in 2010(?) but not this season.

Wheres Rosa gone to? Trade bait as well I assume?
To Essendon in the Tade for pick section.

Not a lot CK to be honest but out of all the players i think he would be the least to get poached during trade week if we cut him as with Stevenson we could still re-sign as rookies where say Arrowsmith even though he hasn't been as prominant will get poached from a Vic side if we delist him thats why.

Arrowsmith has another year on the rookie list and is much further behind Thomson. Why the hell do we have to go and restructure every part of our list anyway? We've already had such a massive turn over in the past few years, it would just be pointless to go and cut or trade that many players. Unless of course you want to spend next year on the bottom too.

And Houlihan doesn't need to be elevated considering he's been the main list since he got here...

Why wont he be ready? You Know people said the same thing about one DEAN COX when Gardiner went down with the first knee. Also lynch will play the pinch hitting ruck around Cox so where does Seaby fit into the first 22? And whats worse while Coxy is around Seaby wont get a fair crack at the ruck duties and he knows it he only plays about 20% of the games in the ruck now and thats not enough of a reason to keep a player of his ability on our list. It would be better to trade him to a club that he will start for and we can get a decent pick out of it NOW if we wait a year he might do a knee or worse lose form and then we get nothing for him!

My bad about Houli had a Quote: Brain snap :end Quote

And Im sure it will only get better with the Player+draft pick trades we will do to lift our draft selections EG: Rosa+#18+#55 Trade For #4+#20 From Ess
Then #4 and Embley+ Nicoski for #2 + #17 From Melb
Then #20 +39+#71+ Seaby for #6+ Travis casserly or Alex Rance or David Gourdis (Just 1 of them WA boys)
That would leave us with Picks #2, #3, #17, #18 in the National Draft and 1 Young Player.
This is only a guide Ess, Dees and tigers fans Im not say they will trade this way OK

You're dreaming mate - given that this is the last proper draft for the next 4-5 years teams won't be trading first round picks esp for players the ilk of Rosa, Nicoski, and Embley (no offence). A more realistic aim would be an upgrade of second/third round draft picks...and this probably won't satisfy you guys, so I'd say those kind of players will more than likely still be in the blue and gold next year.

I think it's plausible that we will want more than three spots available at year's end.

If that's the case, a few guys are going to get shipped out.

Traded/Delisted/Elevated.

Graham-Gone
Braun- Retired
Wirrapanda-Retired (thats the required 3)

Nicoski- Gone Overtaken by Schofield/Brown/Spangher (Med running Def)
Armstrong- Gone Overtaken by Mckinley/Masten(small forward/Midfield)
Seaby-Gone will be used as trade bait.
Thomson-Delisted and re-rookie listed
Rosa- Gone Overtaken by Ebert/Davis/J.Mac(Wing/Defender/Tagger)
Fletcher- Gone Overtaken by Butler/Priddis (leadership/Experiance)
Embley- Gone Will be used as trade Bait.

Davis- Eleveated(Defender/Midfield)
Houlihan- Elevated(wing/Forward)
Wilson- Elevated(forward/Defender)
Wilkes- Elevated(CHB/FB)
Sullivan- Elevated(Ruck) Replace Seaby
Arrowsmith- Elevated(Wing/Forward)
Stevenson- Delisted and Re-rookie listed

That give WCE 4 picks in the National draft and 5 picks in the Rookie draft. Our picks (as the is now would be) #3, #18Pr, #22, #39, #55, #71.

He's already on the main list.

You said as much in your OP.
Care to actually throw a few names up? Or are you going to sit on the fence?

I think four of five go, depending on how strongly we finish the year. I dont think we will trade for more than one player, max, and I dont see us upgrading any rookies other than Wilkes, and only if goes crazy for the rest of the year.

Before the names, maybe we should get an idea of the number.

Presumably, we're going to use at least four draft picks.

How many rookies are we going to promote?

I reckon we may have to create as many as six vacancies on our list.

Will be interesting to see who goes.

I agree with freeing up 6 spots: 1 to promote Wilkes(if he plays well for the rest of the year) and 5 for draft picks.

Remember, this is a very strong draft and pretty much the last one where all teams get fair crack at the draftees for some time now.

I say stock up.

Elevated Davis and Sullivan and need a least three picks in national draft = delisting/retiring/trading a least 5 playersfrom the main list.

Retiring Braun will only give you a rookie pick.

I think he means in the versatility sense. Capable of playing just about anywhere.

Neither Staker nor Hunter will need to line up at CHB soon enough. One of Spangher or Brown will be.
