They have gained a few as well. Rimington from SANFL (Woodville-West Torrens) and Damien Yze (goal kicking machine from Shepparton in the Goulburn Valley League).

good coup to get a bloke who natoriously went from northcote park to seymour to shep & back again a few times for massive amounts of cash. its the reverse of st bedes

Collegians are having a praccy match tomorrow. Don't know about the rest. I always think it's hard playing against your mates and potentially injuring them.

how did teams fare in the past weekends practice matches?, in particular st bernards vs uni blues?

the snake pit was out of bounds and appears to be undertaking a makeover till round 1 or so. so the game was relegated to oval 2 so it was never gonna be the best of games

bernards got the jump on the blues in the first half and looked the goods with good ball movement and even though merro kicked 3 or 4 in 2 quarters, they wernt soley merro focused, they have a new 18-19yr old or so that looks like real quality to add to the boom forward line.

blues came back in the last half and had some quick goals in succession. didnt look as good as i was expecting to see from them. im sure they had a few missing.

dont know the final scores but it would have been only a goal or two to either team so ended up being a good hitout

Caulfield Grammarians vs De La Salle as well, any information from anyone? Scores, standouts etc.?

Scores as reported on DLS Webiste - DLS 7.14 v CG 5.9
Can’t comment on the accuracy of the scores but that sounds about right. Pretty good game really. De La had plenty of senior players missing as I’m sure did Caulfield.

Any update on the rep game this weekend? Will be interesting to see the numbers of Premier players in the side compared to Premier B players, if any make it that is. I'm sure Lethers and Lex will have the standard 10 Old Xavs players in the team.

the ladder will end as

1. Wesley
2. Xaverians
3. Uni Blues
4. De La
5. Scotch
6.Carey
7. Bernards
8. Caulfield
9. St Bedes
10. Trinity

Finals to end as ladder ends, although uni blues could easily topple xaverians

Can't be bothered reading back to see if you have already discussed this but someone told me steven king is playing for collegians? true or false? sautner and king up forward would literally be unstoppable

I for one would not want to see king running around. He would try be a tough nut and belt blokes. I have no time for that in the vafa.

When he was made stand up and tell the bulldogs players what happened a few days after the driving incident he was crying like a little girl.

The assault charge from a night club wasn't a one off incident. he is known for starting fights in pubs and clubs. He always picks his targets too.

VAFA side for Sundays main game. Interesting that the VC is starting on the bench...

bernards put up a good show against collegians, so much so they might have even got the chocolates?? there was no scores but would have only been a goal or two to either team

great sign seeing madden, merro and a few others were out...yes collegians would have had a few out too

Collegians had plenty of players out up to a dozen of their starting 22, and got the job done, so expect a very big year ahead for the Lions.

Rooster can you give any insight into reports that De La have been ordered off Dairy Bell arena by council??? The ground is not fit for football and may not be ready for at least 2 months??

All home games moved to elsternwick?? or worse case Basil street home of the Club XVIII side.

can you bet on the A grade premiers on Sportsbet?

Hope so as I will be having big $$ on my nemesis Caulfield:eek:.

In all my years I have never seen such a wide sourcing of new players especially from big $$ country leagues:confused:. The recruitment of Ceglar Kingwell Kremmer etc are massive in every sense and based on info will make significant impact on the playing group.

Dont know how they attracted these guys :rolleyes:but good luck to them and I will be first in line to invest:heart::diamond::club::spade:

Cheers

Bit of an exaggeration there GY. The council actually gave it the OK but the club being conservative to enure that it is 100% for round 1. Surface is fine but some of the strips where they laid the pipes have sunk. Those strips backfilled with sand to level the surface. Rather than doing it 2 months ago they did it Thursday! A fair chance to play the final practice game on the 14th at DB but will be definitely be ready by round 1.

For those wanting to know the outcome of today's games between De La and OMs
De La won seniors by 105 points
OMs comfortably won the 2s
De La won 19s by about 5 goals.

Sure it's only a praccy but a 105 point pounding doesn't sound too promising for the redlegs. You must be chuffed though Rooster.

Not really VA. Don’t rate practice match results that much to be honest. Good opportunity for some young blokes and those on the cusp to show a bit in the absence of a few regulars but otherwise I don’t know how much we can really take out of that result. Well documented that OMs have lost a lot of quality players. I suppose one positive for them is their depth. Their 2s beat us comfortably and their unders were ok as well.

Through mates and family members CC. If you were as knowledgable as you claim you would know that or work out the links.

Caulfield will be competitive, still a lot of inexperienced players.
