If my lads win Saturday with no less than 14 first choice players out it will be a miracle

I only make three (Chivers, Simpson, Wissell) of those 14 missing as genuine starters, come September action.
Perhaps you can name the other 11 there Bris.

My tips:

Beauy,
Old I
Old B
Uni
Old M

Saw a very very impressive Blacks side put the sword to SKOB yesterday. The curly haired bloke kid wearing 42 was the star for Blacks. Obviously SKOB were missing a few but Im sure blacks were in the same boat. We certainly have new flag favourite.

Depleted Blacks far too good. Still think SKOBBERS will make Preliminary and poss promotion. Charlie Richardson, Costello and Willingham the key to the Blacks. Very good players.

Got a bit willing yesterday - No. 23 red carded, 66 yellow carded, Kempo pleading with Harf to call off the behind play stuff (read 3 decking 33 with a strike to the face), later a Uni guy being waved away from the SKOB's box. Interesting to see 22 playing policeman with 31 of SKOBs. Uni looking good for a GF berth, SKOB's a long way off, even with 14 extras to come in and a flukey wind.

It was on the cards Briza/Bobby. Not that performance however. A most unlike SKOB performance in terms of effort and intensity. Three easy clearances in the first few minutes resulting in goals set the tone for the day.

It wasn't a good look in the second quarter when too much attention was paid to the man.

Full credit to the Blacks who were better drilled, went in low and hard and tackled ferociously. It's a long time since I've seen Benny Dowd caught so often in possession. I doubt a full compliment of SKOBS would have been good enough to have taken the honours.

On that effort you would have to say the Blacks are Premier A bound.

Typical BS from you Brian... Every team has plenty out this time of year!! Having seen both team up close Blacks are the better side, results aside.. Let's hope your coaches kids future doesn't ride on a GF or they may find them selves in the public school system..

West, really good game yesterday given your injury list you must be pleased with some great depth, great work helping the club out with the change of time too!! On another note (and I didn't see it) your seconds coach needs to have a good look at himself, asking players, supporters and other coaches to meet him in the carpark after the game is rubbish and just lowers everyone around him....

If the coaches kid gets into the school she will be the first female in 95 years to do so.
SKOB were never going to win yesterday, as i predicted, even against a "depleted" Blacks side.
No doubt there is plenty of work to do but I'll take an 8-1 start, including a victory against the mob from Beaumaris.

Brian, only 8 of the starting 18 out, but a significant number nonetheless. Even with their full complement available, beating Blacks in the form they were in on Sat would have been a tough ask & full credit to them. As for Blacks being depleted, should just take the good win & move on rather than exaggerate the result with how 'depleted' they were. Caught the last 2 1/2 quarters of the reserves game, absolute cracker.

Add your 6 VFL players, there is 14 of your starting 18, plus another 4 who would be in the side on the bench. Fair to say not even Collingwood would win a game against a top 2 side if it had 18 of their best 22 unavailable. Having said all of that, good on Blacks, they fully deserved their win, they didn't just win either, they totally obliterated SKOB, the worst performance I have seen from a St Kevin's team in a very, very long time. Thank goodness they don't give out premierships in June.

Max, I noticed one O Weatherley back in the team on Saturday, do you think you can win 5 of the last 9 to stay up?

We will be giving it a crack.
But if we go down, it wont be for a lack of trying.

Max on a titerope.

seems like everyones forgotten the win beaumaris had against uni blacks last week? and the very little 1 point loss to st kevins where beauis FF missed 30 out directly in front to win the game in the dying seconds...also the shark lads have played both teams away this season...could be a good run home for them with both of the games against skobs and UB at the aquarium.

Injuries do hurt teams no question, and as chronicle said 8 is a lot of injuries but 18 players to come in. Really? i reckon theres a bit of mayo being added there brian.
So of the 11 players that played on the weekend that have played either 8 or every game in the ones, only 4 of them would be in your best 22, unlucky for them, could be a few derek kickett style issues come finals time.

the boundary ump had more ball skills than a number of the SKOBs, was certainly faster and would add a bit of height down the kevvies spine.:) Would be a good debut on this weekend, multicultural round.

Mike, I don't count VFL players as their availability is limited at best, however, of the 6 we have, none played last Sat, but all would be in our best 22 when/if available. If (and a very big if at that) all 6 were available, it would not be unreasonable to suggest that only 8 of last Sat's team are in the best 22. Brian's 4 is probably adding a bit of 'Mayo'. Then again, 'best 22' is very subjective. Big Budda, for the record, of the games I have seen, Beauie the most impressive opposition to date.

I have to agree with Brian on this one

Old Melbourne Sens to beat St Kevs Reserves
Uni Blacks to teach Oakleigh a lesson.
Old Haileybury to whitewash AJAX.
The Poo Farmers to beat the Poo Browns.
Tonners to put the bite on the Sharks
