Don't be surprised to see last-minute changes to Premier C finals venues starting next week. We won't know right up until the day before the game where the 1st & 2nd Semi Finals will be held at. Why couldn't the VAFA sorted out this problem as early as June/July??

Maybe not June/July, Jase. But by now it should have been firmed up.

With the greatest respect, Jascave, that's frogshit. Every year the finals venues are organised and announced by Tuesday after the end of the final home and away round. That's the way it's always been because it depends of what clubs and where they are, geographically. Do you honestly think a football league is not going to inform finals venues until after clubs have selected their sides on a Thursday before they know where they are playing??

While the top 3-Marcellin, Rovers, Monash-all had wins, however Parkdale suffered a shock loss to Banyule in the Bears' last-ever game in the VAFA before moving to the Northern Football League next year.

Congratulations to Banyule who took the wind out of the sails of the rampaging Vultures and departed Amateur Football on a positive note
whilst avoiding the wooden spoon. All the best to Banyule for the future.

Good luck to those in the finals.

The VAFA has just announced the first week of Premier C finals:

Saturday: 2nd Semi Final-Marcellin v Hampton Rovers @ Trevor Barker Oval, Sandringham.
Sunday: 1st Semi Final-Monash Blues v Parkdale Vultures @ Trevor Barker Oval, Sandringham.

Did Guy get through the game Jase? If so, is he likely to kit-up on Saturday?

Congrats on winning the tipping Rissoles. And well done for the weekly updates.:thumbsu:

Think I'm correct in saying that under the OTP regime the winner invited all the participants for a beverage and put a $100 on the bar.

Thanks, AM. I'm rather chuffed with the threepeat. Happy to shout a few bevs if the tipsters want to get together.

Sorry mate.
If I was Marcellin I would be pissed off having to travel, should be a home final for the top team and nothing against Rovers, but its like their home ground. Cracker of a game it should be.
I think the VAFA didn't have many options open to them when it came to selecting venues for finals. A lot of their first-choice venues were closed off because of the lack of support by various councils throughout Melbourne, and also the EFL, SFL have secured their venues very early on.
The ideal venue to host Premier C finals would've been Punt Rd Oval, with public transport, closed gates, excellent playing surface and good seating avaliable. The only major drawback would've been use of a temporary scoreboard, and the using of car parks because of the upcoming AFL finals at the MCG.
