it’s not upto me.

We aren’t quite ready.

There is going up to play and there is going up to compete and stay.

Like most clubs, we want the later.

Going up to play is very difficult if you a getting flogged.

There are some good seasoned A & B Grade clubs we would come up against.

We don’t have the likes of Hope, Toovey, Heta and Curatolo who had the size and ability to sustain us at B Grade and beyond.

I believe in 2023 we will be competing well in B if all goes well next year.

I've just put in a call to HQ to see if we can jump up? Unfortunately a middle of the road D2 club with big ambitions didn't get it over the line.....surprisingly. 😉

Well have you C, which will even out the games.

Travelling would be so much easier.

would jump at the chance as feel we would get several players and sponsors back to the club if playing a higher grade.

I might suggest to our committee we ask Maxy .............. I know we would pick up plenty of players playing elsewhere IF were playing in a higher grade! It's been a big issue for us whilst in the lower grades and one we come across every year when recruiting.

I think what it proves is that 99% of clubs/players are keen to win flags more that win promotion. I think clubs in the 'window' have every right to say, no thanks, not for us. I've been involved in 4 losing Senior Mens GF's and the promotion was a neither here nor there for me personally. I just wanted to be a senior premiership player with a group of mates who had all worked hard for that goal.

Anyway, I will let you know how we go and if we are playing the local derby again in 2022! LOL.

Agree CC. I seem to be an outrider but have always been a proponent for one up, one down. For me only the premiers should get promoted and I see no joy in losing a GF and then having to play in a higher grade, and against the mob that knocked you off the year before. Most in VAFA circles seem to disagree but I have never been a fan of runners up being promoted.

All clubs were advised that any movement would be dependant on 2 clubs agreeing . 19 clubs were on board with this . The VAFA has gone against their own rules with this , Parkdale should just be told that they are in B and bad luck . Other SFNL voted against them , so have no choice . There is a simple way out of this >

So with 11 teams in and 18 round competition, you won’t be playing every team twice and some teams will have two byes. This will be interesting.

Southern clubs don’t get the opportunity to vote, entirely up to HQ
Prefer a local club like parkdale in than Cranbourne who are now in

I hear Option 2 , 22 rounds with 2 byes . OI and UHS maybe to play Marcellin on a Sunday due to school committments
Why should they have to play on a Sunday. It’s to bad if Marcellin have commitments, put your best team on the park on the Saturday. How many school kids are playing for Marcellin that they would need to play on a Sunday?

I expect it has more to do with ground access rather than player availability.

Didn't you beat them????

Why don't you go up.

They didn't want to go up, the VAFA made a huge mistake and have admitted it. Pull your head out of your backside

Strategically, there might be something in going up for a club who is close but not quite in a premiership window.

A Club could do a deal with the VAFA to play up in the higher level with a first refusal to go down if they don’t make B grade finals.

Playing a year at a higher level is a great way to hone your skills, come back to win C grade the year after and the experience in B could help maintain a spot in B the year after.

Would any clubs find this attractive?

Speaking of grounds. I went past Como Park today. It has been totally dug up. Will it be ready for 2022 season?

I'd assume it will be ready for 2022, April is still four and half months away.

I wonder if it will still be a gigantic gluepot come winter like it normally is
