A journeyman footballer if ever there was one, has played at more professional clubs than I’ve had hot dinners. He has been a paid professional footballer this year, why should he all of a sudden qualify for an amateur permit?

This is where the relaxed ‘amateur’ rules should not allow a permit IMO, it’s a piss take.
He might win the Jock Nelson medal then?

Ivanhoe people rather 'perplexed' by the ok for James ( and others pending ) finding their way into the VAFA this year ...... yet ..... Selwood not! It's a joke 😳

Interesting point, I agree with you there and recall in 2019 that Uni Blues got ex Gold Coast player Luke Russell a clearance mid-season despite the fact he had been paid to play earlier in the season. This caused a few feathers to ruffle amongst other A grade clubs. From memory he stepped in and dominated straight away and even won the Jock Nelson Medal for BOG on grand final day.

FWIW and Will Fordham from the EFNL.
Is Magner an OH boy so won’t need to apply for a permit? Hmm that’s a good process. So rather than take a pay cut and fight relegation for StK City he is moving for nothing to fight relegation.
I'm not sure Magner went to Haileybury for long enough to be a one point player, we shall see on the weekend, but as it has been 10 years since he's played AFL, it's likely he will be a four point player and via a quick browse, it doesn't seem OH are at the higher end of the points cap anyway, so it won't be an issue.

Fordham is a gun at Frankston VFL and I believe their captain, so I doubt he will play many games, if any at all, with OH.

How did Jordan Lewis and Richards go in OS 3rds last sat, anybody hear anything?

You can also be assured JM isn’t playing for the love of the game, he’s not wired that way.
Indeed Mr P ... when we talk about a 'professional' local player, he fits the bill. Also, interesting to see Mr Lewis playing for Scotch after playing a one off game for a professional club earlier this year. How does the saying go ...same, same but different?

Anyway, after discussions at training last night, it sounds like some of the Ivanhoe faithful have given up trying to understand how the differences keep happening and that a they may need a different outlook on things :)

If U/23's or 19's Prem have named a side then they should also forfeit the points. Move teams up and forfeit your lowest graded team.
Imagine if OH’s under 19 Full Back had to play against Matt Handley.

under 19’s should never be force to fillin the Ressies or Seniors due to lack of numbers.
