The girl dropped the charges because she wants it to all end. The grubs at 'People' magazine yesterday published the uncensored photo on the second page of their rag. This caused a new wave of embarrassment and distress. Her family, friends and their friends all know who the photo belongs too. It is no coincidence that she wanted the charges dropped after a new wave of publicity from 'People'. BROADly speaking the player(s) sending it on and making it public is a low act. The player still was low enough to make public a photo he promised he had deleted after both parties had sobered up a bit. Please try and have some consideration for a young woman who's only crime is having a sex life that has been turned public. It's not 1965, woman like sex, this could easily have been your daughter or sister.

She lawyered up from the beginning. Either she has a case or she hasn't.

Don’t have to be a lawyer to know she has a case. She would already feel embarrassed enough without her name being made public.

Exactly the same as the chopsticks incident. Easier to let it go than deal with more public fallout.

Maybe she got cold feet, maybe there was a payout, maybe she was told she couldn't win.

Police investigation determined that no offence took place re chopsticks. Might have to restore my old sig.

If there was a case she could have still pursued criminal and civil cases, yes? So all this chatter of a payout seems s bit weird to me.

No ordinary law firm representing her, they specialise in compensation

Yep, but a payoff is often an easier, cheaper and much quicker alternative. Money to pay her lawyers in a civil case could potentially be recovered, but the time spent can't nor can any emotional cost especially with the ongoing publicity.
