Rubbish! McGuire was flayed for months on end from pillar to post. Publicly accused of being everything under the sun. Racist, encouraging violence against women etc, etc, etc.

Also totally false ItsAllAboutMe. ALL the indigenous players did not come out and agree with Lumumba’s false claims.
What? The boot on the other foot and you cannot take it? Typical! Which indigenous player said the claims were false? Are you calling your former indeginous players liars?. Eddie should have resigned after King Kong comment! All clubs have skeletons in closet- so do not take moral high ground paticularly after your own club's failures.

The complete silence from Richmond for several weeks showed what they were doing. They used the same do nothing technique with the chopsticks incident.

Ah yeah, the club conducted its own investigation, then allowed the Martin police investigation to be completed which stated unequivocally that "No criminal offence took place". Then slapped a suspended fine on Martin anyway at the AFL's command.

I'd be happy for it to emerge that she received a negotiated settlement from the club. Money over principle proves her motive all along.

Kachinggg. Cashed out .

Incident neatly swept under carpet, young chick paid out at much better odds than the $500 home girl prize money.

Everyone's a winner.
So you're saying money > principle for this woman?

Yes Peggy, Richmond and Jack Reiwoldt have been shown up to be prize hypocrites, lacking in credibility. Full of sanctimony, outrage and fine words when Eddie made his stupid gaffe about one of their own, Caroline Wilson.

Very belated and muted reaction from Peggy, the club and none at all from Reiwoldt when this disgraceful episode and Chopstick Gate blew up. They've now just buried it in another Richmond internal club whitewash.

Paper Tigers when it counts.
Nah, they are waiting for all the facts to come to light before passing judgement. That's what reasonable people would do.

Others on here who have the dim view of punishing first, asking questions later, have demanded suspensions without knowing all the facts. How naive.

I ask again. How bloody long does it take? 2 and a half weeks since this came to light. Doesn’t seem too complicated or difficult. He either did or he didn’t.

Tigers obviously stringing this out as long as they can hoping it just all disappears. Same with Chopstick gate. All people are asking is that Richmond’s so called investigation be concluded in a timely and transparent manner.

I dont know her but yes it reads that way.
The fact it was dropped at her request leads me to 2 possible conclusions.
1) She was paid enough money to forgo her principles in which case $> principles
2) She thought it better to reduce any future publicity and stress by letting it go.

Option 1 seems most likely IMO.

Rubbish! McGuire was flayed for months on end from pillar to post. Publicly accused of being everything under the sun. Racist, encouraging violence against women etc, etc, etc. Certainly nothing like the 2 whitewashes the RFC indulged in. Their spokesperson says “ investigations still underway”. How bloody long does it take?

He had some criticism but no actual consequence.

Theres always another option ?????????????

She was paid enough money to then get this issue out of the public spotlight, and for it to not look bad for Richmond.

It would be an incredibly brave move for this woman to continue this battle for months and months, it would be high profile, the club and media would slander her, her decision to take a lot of money and for this to be swept under the carpet shouldn't be criticised IMO

You're making assumptions.
How do you know all the facts have come to light for them? Especially when the police hasn't completed their investigations.

Once again, here's another person who is critical of a club when they don't have all the information in front of them. It's a very short sighted view on such a serious matter.

Ok so the criminal investigation has been closed at her bequest. But the AFL are going to pursue the matter right? To make sure women are treated with respect?
The AFL have an image to maintain about how they see women involved in footy don't let us down now....:D

Drifting tumbleweeds...

THE AFL integrity department has launched a probe into the Richmond premiership photo scandal.

Victoria Police formally notified the AFL this afternoon that it had ceased its investigations at the request of the alleged victim.

Evidence gathered by police will not be handed to the league, which will conduct its own probe.

The AFL has the power to punish players and officials under its broad misconduct rules.

The investigation will also test the AFL’s new respect and responsibility policy.

At least one Tigers player faces a fine or suspension for allegedly circulating the nude image in the hours after last month’s Grand Final win over Adelaide.

Other Richmond players proven to have sent on the image could also face sanction.

Are the players still o/s? Difficult for the club or the police to complete an investigation if so. Even then, not sure the club will be equipped to conduct a forensic examination of everyone's phone.
