maybe they already know Tommy is leaving?
Don’t think this is the case just yet, just would like him to show some commitment before thrusting him into what is meant to be a long-term position

Also - this might sound weird, but I think I like the Dawson C/Keays VC dynamic better than Dawson/Doedee. Dawson the ‘carry the team on his back on game day’, vocal leader, and Keays as the ‘set the elite standards’, tough-nut deputy

I don't think Stachan is any better than ROB in this regard... Mutineer, you've watched a fair bit of SANFL footy - who would win this contest?
So… what your saying is you don’t watch the Sanfl then?..

and yet your convinced ROB is a better player than Strawnie simply because the Adelaide selectors keep picking ROB over him?..

I mean.. the Adelaide selectors never get anything wrong do they.. The same selectors that kept picking mookay for three fxxkn years longer than they should’ve..

ROB wins a fair few taps.. just that barely any of them end up going to the advantage of his midfielders..

I watch SANFL games when we're on FTA, so you're right I've really onky seen him play 2 AFL games.

One he was servicable, the other well beaten. Meanwhile I'll just compare his SANFL stats with the one game ROB played down there. If Strachan is better than ROB, he should have won the Magarey medal.

Show me your stats that his HOs "barely go to the advantage of his midfielders".

I actually looked, his HOs to advantage are on par with guys like Goldy and Nankervis. Gawn, Darcy, Witts are at the top, but ROB's in the next level down

The worst thing was when rob deserved to be dropped he didn’t until a couple of weeks later then, Strachan stepped in and did nothing wrong, competed with the best in the game.
Rob played one blinder in the SANFL and straight back in, didn’t have to prove he could back it up.

Did you see the saints game? 45 HOs to 19.
Then V Brisbane, 19 HOs for Strachan, 59 between Fort and OMac

Strachan did actually win the B&F in the sanfl while ROB spudded it up all year

On Doods being Captain, he strikes me a bit as the same as Sloane. Not to paint it as a total negative, but a good team man who says the right things, tows the company line, presents well in pressers and media rounds and is generally well liked both inside and outside of the club.

Dawson may be more quiet and prefer to work in the background, but is the type who just lets his football do the talking and will lead from the front once the whistle blows and the players will all follow him once they cross the white line.

Felt like they wanted Milera forward of the ball to get someone decent delivering the ball in to the forwards. If we've got Rankine/Rachele up there now, as well as Dawson on a wing pushing it forward I think we'd be better covered and could use Milera more at HB.

I actually think his agility, evasiveness and ability to create open play out of congested situations is more impactful down back since he can potentially open up the entire field forward of centre with it, where if he's forward everyone is usually already compacted into that area of the ground.
Exactly what I was thinking. Rankine and Rachele can cover the inside f50 delivery and we move him back to release Dawson to the wing.
Only thing, is if you watch alot of fogs highlights from the second half of the year "vardy magic on Twitter" Milera features in a fare few of them. Makes me think he was starting to build a bit of chemistry with the fwds.

They’re both pretty ordinary but ROB is a little bit better , it’s annoying there is a gap from his best and worst though

The more Strachan doesn’t play the higher he gets rated on bigfooty , he was given a chance last year and didn’t nail it . His game against the saints was very ordinary and ROB played a far better game in sanfl than strachan played all year then was recalled and repeated it at AFL level , had some poor games too for sure compared to his good ones , I’m not a big fan

But ROB’s stats compare better to other rucks than what I give him credit for

It really grinds My gears that ROB has to get dropped to get a rocket up his arse to perform. He should be booted from the leadership group, doesn’t set the right expectations for the playing group.

Yep agree , he frustrates me too

I guess he’s not that talented so prob does ok considering his limitations

Looking forward to having a better ruck on our list one day full stop

I can't believe for someone that big ....how easily it is to knock ROB off balance

I know a guy who won an AFL reserves B&F for a Victorian club. In his acceptance speech he said that all the award meant was that he didn't get the opportunities at the top level that he should have.
Now it was a dick move to make that statement at the B&F (he is a flog), but he was also correct.
I suspect it's also true for Strachan.

Was that guy immediately delisted? Can't imagine it would have gone down well with the coaches
