Which of these players do you think will be selected in the Crows' Round 1 team?

ROBs metres gained are sh.te compared to leading ruckman like Gawn and English, he offers little else but rucking at which he is dead average - meaning mid-table amongst AFL first rucks.

When he takes a defensive contested mark (rare in 2022) it’s either a stagnant 40m kick or an awkward 1m handball to a kick chaser like B Smith.
Meters gained is irrelevant for rucks.

I'd argue ROB's 13 pressure acts to Gawn's 10 and English's 12 is more relevant but if you think meters gained is the important stat, we'll agree to disagree.
It was tongue in cheek, but the fact that rob is ahead in pressure acts vs those two shows how irrelevant pressure acts are for ruckman.

Also a few others including Schoenberg, Pedlar and Murray. Fog was apparently very popular for photos with the ladies!

AFL Fixture 2023: League confirms adjustment to weighted rule that will affect Hawthorn and Adelaide next year

Hawthorn and Adelaide are the two biggest victims from a tweak to the AFL’s weighted rule, which will see the two clubs play an extra top-six team next year.

The AFL on Sunday confirmed it had adjusted the weighted rule to accommodate the extra round which means each club plays double-up games against six teams (instead of five) in 2023. The change to the weighted rule dealt an extra hurdle for bottom-six teams Hawks and Crows who have to play two top-six teams in 2023.

It puts them on the same footing as top-six teams Collingwood and Melbourne who also only play two fellow top-six teams next year.

So AFL just flat out admitting they used the extra round to screw us.

And Hawthorn. Amazing how it hit the two teams who have geared their list to tank.

I don't think our list is geared to tank in 2023 compared to 2022.
We traded away pick 5 to get a shot of experience.
A shot of experience that is yet to reach the "magical" 50 games. We traded away pick 5 to get an exceptionally talented young footballer who if he puts it all together has the ability to be a top 10 talent in the League.

No, we traded pick 5 away to get someone on the verge of superstardom. Whilst it feels like he's been around forever (the joys of being one of the few genuinely great prospects SA has produced in the last two decades), Rankine is only entering his 5th season on a list, and is yet to play 50 games.

Our list is still geared towards tanking in 2023, seeing we're still the 2nd youngest/least experienced. It should stop being in 2024, seeing a good portion of our kids should begin to really push into that 50-70 game bracket as this year goes on + another trade period which should normalise us.

Point stands I don't think anyone could look at our list management this offseason and think we intend to tank next year.

I'm not surprised, I am surprised how Cavalier they have been this time as if it's perfectly normal to admit it.
Does anyone care? The Vic media sure don't. Anytime it is raised they laugh at us for complaining. The SA media don't. They are too busy writing articles loving the liberal party or smashing Harry and Megan. Why would the VFL care about hiding it? They could decide tomorrow that our rebuild is going to well and remove 4 players from our team to strengthen Gold Coast and no-one would give a sh!t.

Biggest issue for the VFL is that they are dangerously close to killing the golden goose. Our crowd numbers are in decline and it's going to get worse.
