Hey saj_21 do you enjoy watching the AFLW?

Not having a go - just interested.

I’m not so into it personally.

The AFL have pumped a shit load of money into it and more importantly they’ve really hung their hat on being progressive and supporting equalisation so I’m not surprised that they are pushing the product hard. They cant exactly turn around and say ‘this isn’t making us any money so we’re out’.

I love the concept but it’s just not good enough to peek my interest at the moment.

Another thing I noticed today (and I wish I took a screen shot to share with you all) was the AFLW footy show this afternoon made a glaringly obvious attempt to sexualise the panellists. the prettiest woman on the panel was dressed conservatively and the other 3 had their top 3 buttons undone and cleavage presented.

It was Abbey Homes and 3 others but I’ve forgotten their names sorry.

Last year I just watched the dees games, this weekend I watched all of the dees game and saw 5-10 mins of Most games. Maybe because it’s February and I’m desperate for some footy to watch. But as I said in previous post I still play and coach, I guess I watch AFLW and see/think what I would do to improve the standard maybe with an eye on coaching female footy in the future.

I'm still firmly of the opinion that his addition to the team had a huge contribution to making the prelim.

It took his first couple of games to get into it, but it clicked for him against West Coast and he set the standard of attack on the contest and the man, and brought the rest of the team along for the ride. There is a passage of play in the Rd23 game against GWS where he nails a bloke, the ball spills out to another Giant, and then Weid nails him ... it's absolute magic ... I think I may need to watch those games again ...
The thing I noticed most about the end of 2018 was how strong all of our players were over the ball. It was rare to see them lose their feet or get pushed off the line/to the ground. We bullied the opposition and harassed until we got possession. 2019 was the complete opposite, our blokes looked the weaker bodies and were consistently left on the ground.
Aerobic fitness plays a massive part in maintaining strength like this through a game so I'm hoping the better preseason has us back to our best, and the addition of AVB makes that even more likely

I would love a full season from AVB he is a big strong body that can come in and throw his weight around, unfortunately his body hasn’t held up in the past few years So I’m not going to hold my breath.

Remember Oliver running through both selwoods on different occasions when he won the ball in the 2018 finals? I want that Melbourne (And Oliver) back.

What did we give up for this guy? Too fat last preseason, hampered preseason this year. Yes, fully aware that he is a decent fullback, but he's done one tenth of f*** all with us so far while some of the top ten draft picks from last season are looking like being long term guns. Really frustrating.

Firstly, we gave up what blitznu said. You can look at the kids we could have drafted with the pick we traded until the cows come home, but if we weren't able to get May, then we wouldn't have traded Hogan, so taking the pick to the draft was never an option.

Secondly, it's hardly his fault he got a cyst, and he'll be back running next week, not worth melting about it.

Hardly melting. But losing patience quickly. It's one thing after another with him. Not his fault this preseason, it looked like he was tracking ok, but last years preseason was all on him. For someone who needs a big year, it's not ideal..

Oh i bet Demon Bhoy is loving it
Mate unlike your good self and a few others in here I don’t enjoy watching blokes get hurt and I certainly wouldn’t have taken the amount of pleasure you and others have taken watching Jesse Hogan physical and mental struggles recently. As I’ve said many times here I want May to be good and the club needs him to be great from Round 1 this year considering the massive price paid to bring him in the door.
This seems very minor and from all accounts he’s as fit and committed as he has ever been which wouldn’t be hard, let’s all hope he becomes the player many of you have been telling me he is and which he needs to be consistently for the next 3 years taking into account the high price paid

That drunk bloke who went to Fremantle.
