Thats the one.Duursma was already off the board, he went earlier with the beggars second pick, it was Caddy who were targeting at 10.
He and Harley are good mates.

What worries me are the kick ins same as the past 2 years, The poor guy kicking out has no options, we get almost the whole team down in the backline so he has no other option but to bomb it. We need to hold our position and have some open space for players to run into & give the FB some options. Just watch next time how our forwards are at CHB, & the defenders only has the option of bombing it. At least i saw 2 times the full back ran it out and tried to get over the crowded HBF's.
Really unsure what your weird obsession is with me for simply thinking it's unreasonable to solely lay the blame at the feet of the head coach for 2 years of injuries forcing the club to field WAFL players, but you do you.BZparkes can you tell me again how Simmo will coach us until 2025 and beyond.
I only watched the first half but thought our pressure was good.
Losing Flynn the day before was a big loss imo and probably throw us out a bit. TBF Freo’s ruck and midfield are pretty strong so not sure what people were expecting?
Need more composure moving the ball forward and a better connection between mids and forwards.
No doubt we will be bottom four, but let’s get around the kids and support them this year. Looking for green shoots.
They're the new St Kilda. They'll be a yoyo team between 14th and 7th for the next decade most likely.Essendon?
Every team is aiming to be the fittest in the competition. It just depends what part of the season you aim to be the fittest.Didn’t care about the result but was a tad disappointed in how we approached and applied ourselves.
I would have thought the list would have been told in no uncertain terms that you will not only be the fittest you have ever been but our goal is to be the fittest club in the league period. Also that everything we do going forward will be attempted to be at our best, no one will show more effort, more passion, and more endeavour. The club will wear the consequences of that.
So for us to come out pretty meek and mild and see Freo being the ones hungry, and show all the quality signs a coach wants to see then that is what I felt a tad disappointed in.
It is only the first hit out so let’s see what happens this week.
Like it or not these hit-outs actually have some meaning for us as opposed to other clubs, it shows intent for what you will bring.
So that being said I will watch with interest this week because what I watched yesterday was the sane old players going through the same old motions. Some of the young guys I liked their efforts.

As in any sport, talent and experience count. Freo currently has more talent across the field.
Other posters have alluded to (some/all I don't know, it hasn't be specified) your senior players just cashing their cheque and going through the motions. That filters through the playing group, and there's a coach/club can do if this is happening, other than to remove them from the team entirely (pay them out).
Most often though, it's the coach that gets the bullet in such a situation.
Simpson is on a hiding to nothing. No one is saying we have Freo’s talent.
My point was I didn’t see a group that was showing the coach that we will literally die for you this year. There is nothing we won’t do for you or the club.
That is what stood out for me, like I said we will see what happens the next few weeks.
Maybe I am looking for something that a Simpson coached side will never show??
Yep put a line through Petch, WitherdenB Williams impressed me in the ruck, regardless of what the stat's say.
Petch, failure again. He's not going to make it.
Are you suggesting Freo is?I agree there's no need to go all out in a game like that but are you suggesting we're a smart club?

Should have traded Petch last year, I’ve been convinced for a long time he won’t make it, but people keep getting blinded by his speed.Yep put a line through Petch, Witherden
Up to 8 wins? You're the one who needs to reign in the expectations. We will win somewhere between 3-8 games at best this season. Reign in the expectations campaigners.

He uses his pace once or twice a game and that is his strength. Very rarely uses it to chase someone but is quicker if he is heading to goal.Should have traded Petch last year, I’ve been convinced for a long time he won’t make it, but people keep getting blinded by his speed.

Fair enough. In my defence I did also say 3Up to 8 wins? You're the one who needs to reign in the expectations.
Purple is the colour of royalty, Google itAgree with this.
Fyfe looked fit and clean and despite purple traditionally being the colour of failure, any centre bounce line up with Fyfe, Brayshaw, and Darcy is going to be reasonable.
Jeez that was quick budSo you’re a bunch of irrelevant inbreds then

Knowing every bloke on the other side suddenly wants to grab you and batter you into the turf can have that effect! When I coached all my players were much quicker when they had the ball. It’s a pretty common thing.
Ha Ha toche! If I may, it takes one to know one... FWIW I think Simpson is a very good coach trying to do his best with a shitty list.I reckon you’ve heard that before
