In his draft year he was like 550 in Yo-yo while mckercher and rest 950. I dream of a day where Harley is an endurance beast.

I don't think injuries made his endurance that much weaker. I think he's always been bad at endurance. So not a concern.

We are hoping for improvements though
Will take time to build a tank with an explosive mid like Harley, but thought he had more than that?
Another couple of preseason's and will find out his true endurance.

I remember Harley or maybe one of his parent's saying he has a weakness for Maccas'. Maybe he still does haha. He'll never be an endurance beast, but he's definitely carrying too much weight atm

Graham's running was impressive, left Ginbey behind on his hands and knees. Harley is pretty big across the backside, had a bit of a waddle going, trained alright after the beep test though.

Big Archer getting his name mentioned again as a standout, this time by Matt Flynn.

On Van Es, there's clearly a bit to work with, he's a mountain of a man and did the 20m in 2.91 and has a RV of 98cm. As a KPD they're very handy traits
where was this about Archer?
Big Archer was rated top 10 in his draft year before his knee injury.
I think we have a beauty in big Archer and hope he ties down a spot in attack or defence and becomes a great player for the club.

Jack Williams going to get pushed out again?

No, there’s no way they’ll play Archer as the second ruck. We’ve seen what that did you Oscar. If we go with a Shaun Grigg approach elsewhere then maybe Archer pushes him out but that’s a very tall forward line with none of them rucking.
There are a few ways that Jack might miss for Archer but see how the trails and pre season plays out.

If Sam Darcy and Mac Andrew can play parts in the ruck, I don’t think we would be ruling that out for Archer. Might come down to how much % Flynn and Bailey Williams can play in the ruck

Did any of the new first year draftees partake?

Was a bit distracted as I had two animal kids with me but definitely saw Gross and Allan and [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]% sure Davis was also running.

I left early and there were three players training on the second oval with a coach but couldn’t quite see who they were.

Chesser ran laps by himself while the others were doing the beep test.

Training notes from The West

Chesser, Jamieson and Edwards still working away from the main group as precautionary load management according to the club

Yeo, Ryan and Petch found some run through work

Sheed didn’t do the test but participated in other parts of training

No real mention of Reid which is unusual for them

Yeah, I browsed Harley's draft profile before last years draft and of all the positives he had he had two negatives. 1) Needs to clean up his field kicking and 2) Needs to build a bigger tank/more endurance. Which is pretty sure where all the Dusty comparisons came from.

I think McQualter needs to attach Harley to Jack Graham who's putting everyone to shame in an apparent ripping nick he's come to the club in.

Ginbey is an absolute specimen as is Chesser both get lost on the footy field. Harley looked a competent midfielder from day one with match winning abilities and showed ins fair few games last year that he had the tank to impact after half time. Yeah fitness would help him but give me actual footballers over athletes please
Imagine if it was possible to have both attributes.
