Excerpt from The West -
"In good news for the Eagles, Dom Sheed sat out the running testing but took part in large parts of the rest of the session..."

I question whether any of that is good news?
I see Dom as depth, maybe he'll surprise?

In his draft year he was like 550 in Yo-yo while mckercher and rest 950. I dream of a day where Harley is an endurance beast.

I don't think injuries made his endurance that much weaker. I think he's always been bad at endurance. So not a concern.

We are hoping for improvements though
A lot of power athletes aren’t real endurance beasts and even then it takes them a bit of time to get to a decent endurance

Ginbey is an absolute specimen as is Chesser both get lost on the footy field. Harley looked a competent midfielder from day one with match winning abilities and showed ins fair few games last year that he had the tank to impact after half time. Yeah fitness would help him but give me actual footballers over athletes please
Ginbey looked really good down back, didn't look "lost" at all

Big Archer getting his name mentioned again as a standout, this time by Matt Flynn.

On Van Es, there's clearly a bit to work with, he's a mountain of a man and did the 20m in 2.91 and has a RV of 98cm. As a KPD they're very handy traits
Is that an RV for ANTS!?

A mountain of a man needs a mountain of an RV!

Hopefully when he gets his AFL contract he will be able to buy himself a larger RV. That's the feel good headline for 2025 I think.

Yeo came off before the session ended, bloke next to me said he got a head knock, I didn't see it and no mention of it elsewhere so maybe it wasn't a concussion just a precaution.

From the west article I posted a link to earlier

“Yeo left the track early after copping a finger to the eye during ball work and didn’t return. The veteran laid on the ground with his hand over his face for a moment before leaving in the hands of trainers.”

Hopefully nothing too serious

Sheed playing a season for the Beagles helping out the young mids isn’t the worst outcome

First he needs to cope with the increased training loads that will come as he progresses through rehab

Yeah because all our players need to learn to stand 5 metres from the ball carrier and clap like a seal.

When he played in the wafl last year with the younger midfield, it functioned much better. His leadership and direction are clearly valuable for the younger players, specifically in the wafl. I agree, his days should be done in the afl.

Or make him fit and fat shame him.

We don’t need him as an unaccountable forward having ginbey types run off him.

I said it during the day and I'll say it again, looking at the condition Graham and Baker showed up in, McQualter should have him train with those blokes to show him what work outside of clubland looks like.

Graham blowing up Ginbey in the modified beep test today was awesome. Great to have those two paired together and pushing each other, was a fantastic contest.

Bazzo has had surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot.
Poor bugger can't get a decent run!!

Don't worry! We have reinforcements at the ready!

"The 194cm prospect played some of his best football for the year in defence in the Coates Talent League, though, and is happy to swing between both ends of the ground."

“I don’t really care where I play. I just want to play. I’ll play as a key back or a key forward, it doesn’t really bother me too much,” Shanahan said.

“I’ve had more experience in the forward line but last year at the Pioneers I played my best footy down back so either-or, really.”

This bloke is going to be a gun. A season or 2 developing under Gov with Hurn and H.Taylor mentoring will do him the world of good.
