As much as Maynard seems like a flog, itd be nice to have someone like that ready to fly the flag for the boys at a moments notice, often unnecessarily
**** maynard ends a blokes career and his punishment is getting to play in a grand final .

Privileged vic flog we all know if it was one of our players in the same position it would have been a suspension

All for flying the flag when we can actually do something about it on the scoreboard afterwards.

Going the knuckle when your down by 10+ goals is just embarrassing.

IMO when 'flying the flag' is just starting biff because you're losing by 10 goals that's embarrassing.

No matter what the scoreboard is, if a teammate is knocked out by an opposition player, you remonstrate. In fact it seemed more limp because we're terrible too - if you're in the top 4 and it's round 22 with a tight game on the line that's far more of an excuse to keep focused on the game. We looked gutless as well as performing poorly, we need to fix that should it happen again.

New coach won’t accept that, we were very poor at that time, with a few select people defending the coach.
Lest we forget.

From what I remember the following week, shuey came back into the team the next week…..and was just about ready to kill blokes in the first quarter. Kelly, yeo, Duggan, Allen played against the pies, shuey didn’t!! It’s a black mark against our current captains, which will take a long time to forgive

Agreed. I think people are accepting of us getting belted on the scoreboard, but our on-field shitness notwithstanding, it was such a poor look to do absolutely nothing when a first year player got sniped like that. I remember Schoey on Backchat talking about walking taller as a rookie having Chick protecting him. De Goey would’ve left Optus with his ears full of gauze if Woosha had been playing.

Ryan will sort Maynard out, any more discussion about Maynard being anything but a flog, deserves a 1 month bigfooty ban.
My fondest memory of that Tosser Maynard was him flapping his arms around claiming he was held in the final minutes of the 2018 Grand Final when Dom Sheed took the mark.
Maynard lost them the grand final by being caught on the wrong side of Rioli and he couldn't get across to spoil Sheed.

Maric could hardly have a better teacher as he transforms himself into a defender. Interesting that he’s focused on building his endurance this off season which would partly explain why he doesn’t seem to have put on much bulk- although he does say he’s built on his strength as well

Going to be interesting to see how Hurn goes in a coaching role after taking a year off. I think he’ll excel

Any way of searching for pics (I tried media)

I want to find that pic of Clay Hall looking swole for the SC rookie thread.

Try Googling "hard bodied tanned men with bleached hair".

Just googled, no luck.

"now just remember, Ryan...long, and to the right. This concludes today's lesson."

In all seriousness though, love seeing Hurn back at the club mentoring the younguns.

I want to find that pic of Dom Sheed looking swole on the phone

Remember when a certain unlit predator thought that his skinny little legs were to scale? :$

Really need a visual library or similar where pics like that can be readily accessed, maybe a sub-thread to the Boardisms.

I see a lot of talk about Harry here, not a lot of it positive. Understand he hasn't shown much yet, but he's a young ruck. How many over 200cm tall in his draft year are ahead of him I wonder?

Also, I see a lot of emphasis being placed on one passing remark he made on a podcast, about him not having his head in the game if he loses the first tap...To be honest, I don't read into that at all. Its almost as if people don't expect him to grow mentally, as well as physically. It's all in the training, and that was quite a while back now.

He's in ripping nick, seems to have put himself in a great spot to go to the next level. I expect him to be a serviceable backman, he can take the gorilla forwards...perhaps even overtake Edwards if he continues his run of injuries

Come off it… Collingwood didn’t lose the game because a bloke lost a 1v2
