List Mgmt. Priddis Signs On Again

Maybe they are moving on a player or two , Masten maybe a trade ....Redden not making the grade required ( as yet anyway ) .

So they extended a year for Priddis , reckon West Coast are working on something anyway because the Mitchell trade was amazing .
Yeah but they had nothing to do with it :p

It's possible that Simpson isn't on board with this decision at all and I actually think that if he's not really ok with this happening he may quit at the end of the year.

Take this for what it's worth (which isn't much admittedly) but my boss is reasonably well connected with some of the older footballing circles. He told me that he was at dinner with some of them last night and it was mentioned that there is a serious division at the Eagles in regards to the future direction of the club.

Interesting.

I'll be honest. If Priddis, Lecras, Mitchell and Butler are still on our list and getting games next year I'm going to take a break for a while. I've already lost a lot of interest in the sport in general and if there is no list movement then whats the point.

I'm feeling the same at the moment. The club is behaving like a charity not a ruthless football club.

What positives have you taken from this news?
ahuh, you really have to wonder? I often thought he wasn't allowed to have complete control.. other than the stooge coaches/supports he can pick.
How did this play out? I want Priddis' manager to negotiate my next pay rise? How do the club rationalise this? Seriously, what did they tell even themselves would be the benefit in this?

This re-signing raises questions.

1: where do the club really think they're at? Do they still believe we can contend this year and next?

2: If we brought in Redden as a Priddis replacement, why have we re-signed Priddis? That trade was a complete waste of pick 18 to just have Redden play at HF. And tbh it's not fair to Redden whose game has suffered for it.
He would have been better if staying at the Lions.

3: What happens to Mitchell? Does he go on another year and we continue to run with this current mid set up just with NN and Lycett thrown in the mix? Does the club rate Priddis higher than Mitchell?

4: What has changed or improved in those 3 or so weeks since the article about the club putting contract talks on hold for him?

5: What happens to our youth and depth mids? Do they stay or look for more opportunities elsewhere? Because they'll now be going another year without solid blocks of games at AFL level. Guys like Hutchings, Partington, Mutimer, Duggan Etc...

well done matt, you've been a good servant and the club has seen fit to reward you.
but so many questions about this move from a fan point of view.
given he can only really have any impact in the middle, and that impact is trending backwards, i'm
mostly disappointed that the club won't back itself to find a midfielder that can replace priddis' projected onfield output in 2018.

Almost 30 years of supporting this once great club, i'm almost out of patience. Priddis was bought in to cover for Judd, Cousin's and Kerr, instead we built a midfield around him, fail, then extend his contact again!
I'm lost for words, could have traded him to the expansion teams, club has lost the plot, totally ****ed.

And to think I got flack for grading our list management a 4 out of 10 since 2012.

I would like to see if the club could be floated so that when decisions like this are made then we can short sell the stock and at least cash in on poor decision making.

I guess this will be a popular decision with our Chardonnay retirees meaning a full take up on seats in the new stadium. A sound commercial decision

Why is everyone assuming he's not just going to be cover next year?

While the timing is odd, I guess the signing was done to offset the negativity surrounding our form.

****ing hell.
I don't log on for a day and this is what hits me in my notifications.

****ing scared me half to death and felt like I was watching the thing movie and alien over again when I was 12. Scarier than both those movies.

What a mediocre ****ed club we have.
