U/18 QLD captaincy usually guarantees you a spot on Brisbane's rookie list and I thought that's what was going to happen to him. A bit short and a bit old school is probably his problem. I guess there is a little bit of a resurgence of the nuggetty little rover so that bodes well for him. The new team in Gold Coast might open up a door for him too, but based on what I saw last year I'm not sure he'd be in massively high demand this year.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him in Gold Coast's inaugural squad down the track being a fine local talent that just plays the game a little different to how AFL is played these days.

What does everyone think of James Strauss.
Played very well against Haliebury in the APS. He longs to be a very promising player, who would be 2nd or 3rd round.
thoughts?

Yeah, I would have to agree with you there on that Bond kid.

Sprints like Davey x2
Runs like Harvey
Kicks like Buckley
Handballs like Westy
Marks like J.Brown

What more do you want from a young up and coming superstar.

My prediction is top 30, some might say top 20, but we will soon see.
How has he been going more recently?

Whats Swift's disposal like? Wouldn't mind having a more efficient Carrazzo running around.

Very good disposal, probably will be gone by Carlton's pick though as I expect you to be around the 8.

Well put it this way the top 20 this year is of extremely high quality. If Swift is not available as well as Hurley then I could see Calton picking Matthew DeBoer with your first pick. He has a bit of risk with him but plenty of X Factor and upside.

Has been carving up recently. There is talk he will make the seniors Queensland team this year which is quite a good reply to not being drafted. If he continues his rise I'd expect him to get drafted in the rookie draft or maybe through the whole Gold Coast team talent suck despite his height.

1. Naitunai (melbourne), 2. Rich (freo), 3. Yarran (WCE), 4 Hurley (Ess)

J.White is almost done and the dees desperatly need another good ruck hes there man expecting dees to finish last. Essendon should get pick 2 and i dont think they pill go pass a Rich but they need a key defender and hurley could be picked up by the dons even if they finish 2nd last. Eagles need a small qucik forward to replace a tiring Wirrapunda. Rich may slip to 4 if freo finish 4th last as the other teams have players they need for the future.

WA draftees: Naitunai, Rich, Yarran, K.King (didnt make state 18's, because unaccountable), M.Walters, N.Jetta, J.Fiegert, M.Deboer, C.Garlett, A.Smith (played with him in school football will be a late pick but is a gun, left footer, skillful, runs mid 11's for 100m, has run a 16 or high 15 in beeptest, plays wing and onball. Hes unaccountable which may be his downfall. A.Cockie, J.Laurie, M.Duncan unsure if he can be drafted

Just wondering i herad that DeBoer was bottam age

And also where did he go to school and where did he play.

Top age now (he could have been drafted last year but didnt nominate), he went to either John 23rd or Scotch (I've had a mental blank). Plays a running role through the middle. Although if you mean what position did he play at school.

WC should take Hurley over Yarran if he is available. Take best available not based on need.

Yarran has now moved ahead and should be a top 3 draft pick.

In the newspaper and also state 18 teammates have said hes top 3 this year and with him being home grown and a small forward/onballer the eagles will have a blessing with him at pick 3

how on earth is jack watts not going to go top 3?? had big expectations on this kid for years playing games against him in APS football. came out and had an absolute ripper of a game for victoria metro taking 4 contested marks and kicking 4 goals given the best on ground.

or is he underage? i know hes a year 11 student so it is probably most likely that's why your not including him because one would have thought he would be a certain to go top 3.

Naituai, Rich, Hurley, Yarran, Swift are all better bets at this stage to go top 3, and the top 2 will be Rich and Naituai barring a miracle. Watts is good but probably fringe top 10-15.
