Theres a lot of B&f winners that dont get drafted ...Because a lot win the B&f because they dont play state footy . A real stand out might but generally the best players miss to many games through state footy etc. not saying that in this case but its a general rule of thumb (with exceptions before anyone jumps down my neck)

Look at Kelly form Dale Thomas's year!

More like Delidio if you ask me! A goal kicking, precise by foot, Kicking onballer!

Gibb's The hard working workhorse!

Big Diference! Rich is slipping in my view! Hurley 1, Naturi 2, maybe Rich 3, but If Melbourne finish botom I'ld expect them to jump on Naturi!

Expect to see Stoyanoff and Broadbent at Port Power in the next 3 years!

Do you mean Naitanui? :p

It all depends who finishes last really. Different clubs need different players. Providing Melbourne do finish last, they will most certainly opt for Nicholas Naitanui as Jeff White is nearing to the end of his career.

I'm surprised Mitch Banner wasn't in there. Any reason why?
He's small and I don't find his disposal that damaging. Nice and neat footballer with plenty of versatility but I see him as a poor man's Mitch Farmer, and Farmer only went in the 40's in last years draft.

Deledio a goal kicking onballer and a precise kick?

Bryce was good on the weekend and kicked a goal.
Gibb's The hard working workhorse!
Gibbs v Boak

And Gibbs is seven months younger than Boak.
Sam Blease running off the wing. Probably one of the best going around with his run and carry.
Doesn't sound like there are too many running players in this draft.

DeBoer and that bottom age Northen Knight who was overlooked :)confused:) might be our best bet to draft a quick onballer or a ball carrier.

David Zaharakis. 14 clubs will regret not taking him cheaply in 2007 (WC and Syd drafts ended by mid second round).

Blease king (national running champ)sidebottom, walters, any of these are well regarded in pace.

is a freak player and should get drafted very highly.. but pace is one thing he doesnt have! he probably looks quicker on the ground due to him reading the play so much better than anyone else and towards the end of games his probably runnin at the same pace he started at which would make him look quicker as most other players have died off a bit due to his great endurance..

what event was blease a national champ in?

Wat do we know about the bottom agers.. anything changed since any of the last posts?

Kieran King
Michael Walters
Sam Blease
Tom Hill
Jack Ziebell
Steele Sidebottom

thoughts on these players are they likely to go?

Very hard working midfielder who is especially good at setting up play. Lean as a whippet when I last saw him but he can get the ball and get it out to advantage brilliantly. Played with Yarran, Notte, Rance and Naitanui in Swans Colts last year and it was Yarran and Walters sharing the ball down the wings to Notte at CHF/FF. Liked his style but I would rate Yarran higher IMO, has a bit more class, but Walters does a lot of grunt work.

Sam Blease is a good mate of mine and is all class. i played in two premierships with him down at Norwood football club and he would have been the b.o.g on both. He has also won a few league best and fairests aswell.
Absolute freak! :D

From AFL.COM.AU

AN IMPRESSIVE 35-point win over West Perth at Subiaco Oval on Saturday completed a successful, challenging and rewarding tour of South Africa and Western Australia by the AIS-AFL Academy squad’s 11th intake.

The football experience for the players was exceptional and included games against WAFL clubs to top-and-tail the tour of the ‘Rainbow Nation’. Mentors for the squad, Nathan Buckley, Michael Voss, Jason McCartney, and Luke Darcy, worked under an outstanding teaching head coach in Allan McConnell. Young players from around Australia could only have dreamed about this once in a lifetime chance.

Football and conditioning

Sessions in first class high performance centres in Potchefstroom, Pretoria and Cape Town added to the four-match program, including two games in Perth .
The two matches in South Africa were played on famous international cricket grounds in Sedgers Park in Potchefstroom and Supersport Park in Centurian, the same venue for the exhibition match played between Fremantle and Collingwood in February.

To see the AFL goalposts stand proud on grounds used solely for cricket for over 100 years was an encouraging sign, as the AFL has been building relationships with cricket in South Africa .
Such a successful partnership between Australian football and cricket has seen both sports grow together in our own country and dominate the sporting landscape.
Just 12 months on from the first ever Australian under-17 match against South Africa held in 2007, the second encounter showed the growth in skill and knowledge from the South Africans.
They scored five goals against our nation’s best youth players (who scored 19 goals) – quite an achievement given the high quality of the Australian squad preparing for AFL careers in the next two drafts.

Game development

In the townships, an incredible bond was seen to be developing between Australian football and people in the sports-loving, isolated South African communities. In April, 2007, AFL South Africa launched Footy Wild – the South African version of Auskick.

To go back to where the first sessions were held and see the goalposts permanently up on community cricket grounds like Khayelitsha in Cape Town, and be guests at the local Derby between Nyanga and Khayelitsha at senior level with an under-13 curtain-raiser, was a sight for any footy lover to treasure.
The innate skill, hand-eye coordination, speed, agility and courage of the emerging South Africans in their matches left no doubt in experienced observers’ minds (including the visionary, Kevin Sheedy), that Australian football can find a permanent place in the hearts and minds of other nations.
Already, 7,900 Footy Wild players and over 500 volunteer coaches, umpires and administrators have emerged in 12 months.

Australian talent

It was the final match of the tour which gave the clearest impression of the quality of the Australian under-17 team. They were pitted up against WAFL club West Perth , coached by former Bulldog Todd Curley, and comprising a majority of its senior team with stronger bodies and more experience.
The teenagers had to put aside the effects of jetlag and physical tiredness as well as torrential rain (a record-breaking fall of over 60mm on the morning of the match), and responded to every challenge to win impressively by 34 points.

All of the AIS-AFL Academy members have what it takes to enter the AFL system, like past graduates Chris Judd, Joel Corey, Kane Cornes, Luke Hodge and Buddy Franklin.

Based on their performances both on and off the ground, you can mark down Kane Lucas (WA), Matthew Broadbent (SA), Jack Ziebell (VIC), Tom Scully (VIC), Michael Hurley (VIC), Liam Jones (TAS), Jackson Trengrove (VIC) and Declan Bevan (QLD) as players with the talent and passion to be potential great role models for the next generation.

Their names may be those to be debated in the next NAB AFL Draft.

kieran king went to my school few years below, dominated all sports huge engine and natural sporting ability. Unsure about how his skills are coming along but sounds like he is making his way. Had to sign a contract with the AFL stating that he would give up Athletics.
