IMO the song is OK and the vid is funny. Those concert clips earlier in the thread are awesome. Look at the smiles on people's faces and how much fun they are having. He's making the world a better place. Good on him.

They might find it funny and probably laugh at western people doing the dance really badly but I think overall they are probably extremely proud. It sounds strange but their music industry actually seems very good natured. Obviously a lot of what comes out is manufactured but kind of in a good way. Groups are put together and then taught to sing, dance, act and they are also taught good manners apparently.

Making it in the west seems like a big goal for Korean acts at the moment. The Wonder Girls had a minor hit in the US a few years ago and their biggest boy band, Big Bang, have been making videos in the US.

A number of music stars are actually American of Korean descent and many, Psy included, have studied in the US. There is a band that actually has a couple of Australian guys of Korean background in it but I can't remember what they are called.

I know far too much about this Just find it interesting that there is another music industry that is probably just as big as the Western one and until now the two have hardly met. Like India's movie industry I guess. Seeing something like this Psy song break through like this is fascinating ... to me anyway

Good on him and good luck, as he has a song the public love and i cannot understand all the hate now it has become popular and like a few others mentioned when the song was less popular upon release everyone was on board but now the hate has kicked in for some reason as it is a world wide hit and people will take any angle to discredit it.

All i see is people having a great time when the song is played and enjoying themselves regardless what they look like while doing the dance as it should be and i bet half the haters are the ones that sit down all night at parties and scoff at others who actually have a good time and enjoy great nights out!!
