Any truth to the rumour the vikings have picked up Sydney Reserves player Jake King and Ex West Adelaide (SANFL) player Lachlan Ireland? If so they will be handy when the hard ball is to be won

Jumped on the scales 62kg career high
Feeling it

that's it - im sending ASADA down to emerald lakes to test the chicken parmas!!

read somewhere Joel Tippett had put on 15kg of muscle this preseason at Nth Melbourne - for a bloke that's been in the system as long as he has that a serious amount of size to grow in 7 months.

didn't see him in vegas with the Collingwood and North boys - he must have gone straight to mexico!

QAFL - 6 likes on your last post - id probably put the cue in the rack after that!!

My point exactly --
QAFL= Div 1
QFA ( Nth/Sth )= Div 2
QAFA a= Div 3
QAFA b = Div 4

Not entirely accurate.

QAFA A = Div 3 (2 team clubs)
QAFA B = Div 3 (1 team clubs or 3rds)

Thats why there is such a gulf between the top sides in QAFA B that are one team clubs, and the bottom sides which are often 3rds.

QAFA B or previous versions of it, has been going since 2007 and the Premiership has never been won by a '3rds' team. Only ever been won by a senior team.

This may change if some QAFL Clubs start putting in 3rds, but I don't see it changing any time soon.

The QAFA B Zillmere team in 2013 would have accounted for anyone in the QAFA A easily, they were ridiculously good. Woodsmen, Jimboomba and Wynnum in 2014 wouldn't have won QAFA A, but they all would have been very competitive.

Just as a few QAFA A sides from 2014 probably would have beaten a few QFA teams ins 2014. Although I think the gap has probably widened in 2015 with Caboolture improving their list and Coomera/Cooly reportedly a bit stronger.

AFLQ changed the names to get away from this dick measuring, and removed Divisional numbers because they recognised that they are not always accurate.

Especially given QAFL reserves is purportedly the 2nd highest standard, yet many QAFL reserves sides would get beaten by QFA Senior sides and QAFA Senior sides.

My comment "issue" is about respecting teams in your comp 2015.not a comp in 2016.
In a previous statement you said lack of players you went down a division to get your confidence back......you were runners up.....but you are going to win and up a division just like that.
I read alot of local rags in my travels....if you want coverage you will get it in your local paper....
Sound very arrogant statement to. Put in any paper...

AN I think you have way to much spare time on your hands and just like stirring up crap about things that don't even concern you.
I take back my statement about you being local because obviously you have no idea about getting stuff into our local paper!
I apologize on behalf of our coach and our club for having a goal, being ambitious and trying to sell our club in OUR LOCAL media.
I am sorry this has offended your genteel sensibilities AN and recommend that you maybe refrain from reading the local Wynnum rag (not that we will probably get that many stories in). Hope you have a great season throwing rocks from the sideline!

I do remember reading in the Quest Papers last year that Wynnum had the best midfield in the competition, so that coach is certainly prone to making bold and misleading statements in the press.

Luckily only a handful of losers like me and AN are actually reading it.

They would need to be handy.

While they finished 2nd last year, there was a massive gulf between 1st and 2nd. A gulf 2 or 3 players wouldn't close, and now they are up in a slightly higher standard division.

I think they're a good finals chance, but well off the pace of the top few sides.

Also, any truth to rumour the Eagles have opted to field 3 sides and could forfeit as soon as Round 1 in the QAFA B?

Come on QAFL you are normally better than this. Yes I am a Wynnum player and yes I am biased towards my team/club.
No question Woodsmen were the best team last year, you don't go through a season undefeated by being mugs. They played really well and except in the prelim where I thought we went close to them, no-one else got within cooee of them all year. I think there was a pretty big gap between 2nd and the rest of the field as well.
QAFL you normally know your stuff pretty well so I don't know if you are just opening the door for me here but ss for big comments in the press, well that one last year might have been a big one....except out of our midfielders last year we had the division B&F winner and runner-up (or maybe he was third, cant quite remember) plus we also had big Scotty G who I know you rated, so that would seem to be a pretty handy group.

But anyway lets focus on some footy. Looking forward to our first game against the Buffs this weekend, then a bye and then the defending premiers in round 3, so we will see how we are going after that.

Good luck to everyone on the weekend and hope you all enjoy your footy!

my sources tell me that it is business as usual for the eagles

don't worry about qafl fan.the White van has has located him and has sent him back to his Tri care village, where he will be heavily medicated.

Wynumm
Ipswich
Gm
Pine
Pirates

Wynnum to win by 30 odd, but are in for a long season aswell as the poor buffs, especially if they think a player like lachlan ireland will win them game..... wouldnt play ones at many clubs in this comp

Ipswich in a close one, vic pt have a lot of good players on their list, have recruited well, will be alot better than people think if they can keep their best team on the paddock.... keep brick and hooper quiet and they could very well pinch this

Griffith by 50, was the benchmark last year and have added well to their list, if their mids win the footy its game over with the potency in there forward line, templer to kick 8+ and morris will chime in with a few himself

Carrara by 12.... dont know all that much about the saints, going for carrara purely because i dont rate the swans

Park ridge by 20.. along with vic pt i think the pirates will suprise a few this year, couple of quality acquisitions i think they will beat the suns..... being at home always helps aswell

Good luck all!

forward for moorooka will cause oppositions a lot of headaches flower, templar, Morris deep forward will be almost unstoppable .

So what you're saying is that there's two division 3's.... And that macmans club haven't moved up but sideways? Even though in 2012 the same clubs in qafa b now were referred to as seqafl div 4 central then ( admittedly with some more new clubs added along the way ). Can't recall the aflq ever explaining anything that resembles what you're saying, but hey, if it makes it easier for you to sleep at night, you stick with your story. Cheers

makes no difference to me buddy, but do teams usually move 'up' for competitive reasons after copping a hiding in the GF? Or do they move to play in a league that will accommodate 2 teams and play on Saturday?

Reasonably reliable source tells me they need 10+ permit players from UQ to field a 3rds side in Round 1.

Not a great start
QAFL_Fan my sauces tell me that theses 2 great clubs have a great working relationship and are working together to make sure their left over players who don't get picked in the seniors and reserves still get a game which to the normal person would be a good thing from what i understand uq sent their excess players to beenleigh last year to top their ressies nothing was said then, so 2 great clubs working together making sure people who would be missing out on a game of footy get a game of footy, good stuff i reckon

Not entirely accurate.

QAFA A = Div 3 (2 team clubs)
QAFA B = Div 3 (1 team clubs or 3rds)

Rubbish.

QAFA B is Div 4. However, much like some QFA clubs would beat some QAFL Clubs and some QAFA Clubs could possibly beat some QFA Clubs, there is no doubt some QAFA B Clubs could beat some QAFA A clubs.

Thats just life, but lets not pretend QAFA B as a competition is comparable to QAFA A. It's not.

Although, there is no doubt in my mind that Zillmere in 2013 would have dominated Div 3 and been competitive in Div 2! They were outrageously good.

Thats why there is such a gulf between the top sides in QAFA B that are one team clubs, and the bottom sides which are often 3rds.

QAFA B or previous versions of it, has been going since 2007 and the Premiership has never been won by a '3rds' team. Only ever been won by a senior team.

Western Magpies 3rds won the Premiership in 2007. Yeronga 3rds made the GF in 2013.

However, in general your point is probably fair.

The QAFA B Zillmere team in 2013 would have accounted for anyone in the QAFA A easily,
Agreed

Woodsmen, Jimboomba and Wynnum in 2014 wouldn't have won QAFA A, but they all would have been very competitive.

I'd like to think we would have played finals and been competitive, but I'm not sure we would have beaten our fellow Alexander Park tenants. Would have been a good game though.

No offense, but when we were close to full strength - Jimboomba were our toughest opponents in 2014. Might have just been a match-up thing, but we gave Wynnum 2 complete hidings and were pretty undermanned for the Prelim in torrential rain. It's the nature of our club I suppose, but 2 of our best players didn't play the GF either.

I don't know if you are just opening the door for me here but ss for big comments in the press, well that one last year might have been a big one....except out of our midfielders last year we had the division B&F winner and runner-up (or maybe he was third, cant quite remember) plus we also had big Scotty G who I know you rated, so that would seem to be a pretty handy group.

Scotty G was the best player at Wynnum by a mile when the whips were cracking. C'mon Macca, I think you know where the best midfield was!

Those other boys may have racked up the touches against the bottom sides, but they were nowhere to be seen when it mattered.

But anyway lets focus on some footy. Looking forward to our first game against the Buffs this weekend, then a bye and then the defending premiers in round 3, so we will see how we are going after that.

Good luck to everyone on the weekend and hope you all enjoy your footy!

Good luck MacMan, I will miss having an opponent older than me!

Hope you boys go well in QAFA A - next step the AFL :)

Please inform me have you actually seen Ireland play. I coached him in u/18s at West Adelaide where he kicked 5 goals in the last half to win a game. So you must be thinking of a different player

Same bloke.... average footballer at best, every man and their dog can be decent in an under 18s game

Same lachlan ireland that the aflqwebsite says that he played reserve grade at Alexandra hills? We all know how average they are

Google is a magic thing
