The last thing we needed going into finals is being there any longer than we needed to. Also it was the only time I saw fev apply forward pressure so F*** him.

Yep. Absolute wasted talent. Should have kicked far more than 623 goals.

I was at that game, actually really wanted Fev to kick his 100th, would have made history, I'm sure/ Still, Buddy's was a pretty special moment.
At the time I thought it would have been a special piece of history, but since then I'm happy Clarko made it hard. You have to earn your position as a 100 goalkicker, not be gifted it by the opposition.

Given McEvoy's great form last season (coming second in the PCM) that he has seemingly carried into this season, what would he have to do or achieve for the rest of his career to be considered Hawthorn's greatest ever ruckman?

Of all the 'best ever' Hawthorn positions, it seems to be the one most up for grabs.

IMO:
Paul Salmon's two PCMs in mediocre years probably cast a bigger shadow than they should. Gonna be hard for Big Boy to emulate that given he's been part of a much stronger outfit.
For mine, when he wasn't suspended for outright thuggery, Don Scott was a fantastic undersized ruckman. His performance in the '71 Granny was extremely impressive.

So, to answer the question, continued strong PCM performances and if given the opportunity, a Norm Smith or at least a big performance in same would get him into the argument.

Probably has been mentioned 20 times over already but how does Ablett and Dangerfield end up on the 'field' in Kane Cornes' team of the week and Tom Mitchell sent to the bench? Pretty sure I'm not the only one who thought Mitchell outshone all 3 of their campaigner squad* on Monday.

* I actually don't have a problem with Ablett but I wanted to say campaigner squad.

And McEvoy didn't make the grade apparently.

Anyway. Hey footy.

Hey guys,

Me and two mates are heading to Launceston to watch us take on Port on 2nd June. Any recommendations for accommodation ?

We all like a beer, so accommodation close to the main nightlife drag would be best

Not a question, just a statement.

Jeez caro loves to hype up Clarko and Kennett. Already going on about whether he will stay, will Kennett give him a contract, will Clarko hold them to a kings ransom, which or how many clubs will come after him and will he entertain it.

Just Fck Off Caro haha

My kids are keen on starting to collect footy cards and I haven't really had any experience with them since I was a kid. Just wondering if there are different packs? Was at the petrol station the other day and saw a blue box and a red box. Is there a difference, if so, which are the best ones to collect throughout the year?

Yeah, my nephew collects them. I think there are two kinds, one which is 'teamcoach' which he avoids like the plague. He says the proper ones have 'footy stars 2018' on the front. They are the ones that have all the 'cool inserts'... in his words. :p

I have an off topic discussion topic, I was going to start a separate thread for it but since it was a fair bit off Broadway thought I'd post it here.

Looking for some interesting ideas to deal with an invasion of privacy issue.

Background, I don't care to much for two out of my four neighbors, in fact I don't get along said two at all.

Last night whilst in the man cave bottling a what will be a very nice drop of home brew I got distracted by what I thought was the second coming of ET landing in my apple orchard. I figured that after some thought someone had been buzzing my joint for some time with a drone and run out of power and safe landed there, see this must have been going for some time because I could here the dog barking for some time but as I'm also very good at zoning him out so didn't take much notice. I went out to collect it from an angle that I suspected the camera wouldn't be facing and I nailed it , walked up from behind, rotors still whirring, flipped over on to its back sideways as not to be seen on camera then proceed to unplug the power.

Now I'm the proud keeper of a useless drone as I have no control pack for it.

Question for all you varied thinkers out there.

When the owner of the lost drone comes a knocking, what should one do, remembering I don't relate well with two of the neighbors so I'm up for a bit of fun.

I was thinking of strapping the rotors so they wouldn't move and take to the bath room with me turn the power back on and let the nosy sod watch me take shower (it has a cam) not a pretty sight, but then I can't be sure it doesn't belong to one of the cool dudes I live next to.

Fire away.

You are a prick and a thief and I'm glad you are not my neighbour..

Glad you like cameras floating around your backyard:eek:
And how do you become a thief if you pickup something from your own back yard, would have thought if someone was to come and jump the fence into my backyard they would be trespassing.
You must win many people over with the attitude you have.
Trot on fella was only after some whit something you seem devoid of.

You have made no effort in allowing somebody to recover their property, the lest you could do is to take the drome outside where you found it and turn it on in the hope that it will fly away.

Todman, do you get along with all your neighbours? Do you like flying drones at night? Have you recently lost your drone? Do you live near Bumps"N"Grins?

a) you aren’t supposed to be flying them over someone else’s property
B) you shouldn’t be recording someone else due to privacy laws
C) all the owner has to do is knock on the door and ask for it back because he/she are supposed to have a line of sight of the drone and would therefore know where it went down

Bumps is quite within his rights to hold it until they come to collect. I’d take it down to the local station and tell them you have an issue with the fact the drone was videoing him and leave it with them and then let the owner know where it is when they come knocking

Point it at a photo of aliens holding a ransom note.

Okay the end of the drone invasion has come.

Now this is what happened. I took Argy's advice and sat the drone on a bench and hoped as I suspected that it didn't have enough power for flight but did have enough to operate the camera and GPS. I placed a note in front of the camera stating where it was and that I wont be handing it back unless the owner was prepared to bring two craft beers of his choice and be prepared to have a civil chat about the safe return of the drone.

Two Sierra Nevada tropical IPA's were had over a ensuring conversation about privacy and why it is that I live in semi rural setting as it turns out the guy lives about 400m away (properties are separated by another) and watched his drone drop out of the sky and had on idea which of about three places it may have landed, thought that the ransom note was amusing and surprisingly didn't think I was as bad a bloke as one of the hard to relate with neighbors made me out to be.
Thanks for the advice all and I'm glad I was just a little bit of a prick otherwise I wouldn't have been able to break bread with someone I haven't met before. :rainbow:

Its a great qustion. Sorry though, I guess for my money its Salmon, not merely for the work he did with us, but also the way he singlehandedly destroyed us himself on occasion. And Scotty, I only know be revered talk of his exploits. A club captain not only willing to die for the team, but kill for it, puts him in a special league.
If Mc went further and rose to Captain, or even VC, it really would further his cause though.

Why I find the question interesting though is, I was wondering how long TOM has to perform at his outrageous best to be considered TOTC threat?. At least 3-4 years, PCMs, Brownlow(s)?, influnce in finals, and then how much would come down to GF success? Hes improving, just wonder what people would think he ultimately needs to do to potentially enter those discussions one day.

Maybe I shoulda posted in the 'TOM, where's he at thread?'

TOM needs to do what he’s doing for another 8 years

He is miles behind Sam Mitchell
